Thinkin of lowering my bike, roughly 1inch. I have a set of lowering bars (some people call them dog bones) left over from my 04 sv650 .They look about an inch shorter than whats on my 08 gsx650f. Not sure if i will go ahead with the lowering idea or not. I know that if you lower the bike too much the kickstand has to be altered like on my SV.I would just like to have both feet a little more planted on the ground when i am stopped or trying to roll the bike backwards. If i only lower it an inch or less would i still have to lower the front as well? Any input on this project would be appreciated...Thanks.

you dont have to lower the front but it will give you more of a cruiser feel because you will be leaning back a bit more. Lowering the front is very simple, just loosen the bolts on the fork and let gravity do the work....i have lowered my bike about 2 inches front and back. I love the handling i gained from the lowering....

Kim I'm not 100% sure on this and maybe someone can confirm, but the dogbones actually need to be longer
to lower the bike. Sounds strange I know but I think it's correct. I could be wrong but I'm sure I've read it
on this forum before.

If the ones you have are shorter than the stock 650F it will not work.

Correct. They will need to be longer.
