I think what Bronx Bull was getting at is that the stock setup clamps the mirror stalk in a fork at the mount. The bolt tightens the two sides of that fork onto the stalk, and the mirror can be adjusted without loosening the clamp bolt. With my SW-Motech mirror extenders, which has the clamp bolt clamping onto the washer like your system, there's enough friction between the mirror stalk, the washer, and the bolt head, that the bolt can loosen when the mirror is adjusted, neccessitating the need to have an allen wrench handy.
Precisely. The OEM mounts apply even pressure to the mirror stalk on both sides, which is conducive for adjustment without fear of the allen bolt loosening.
I guess my question is: if I rotate the mirror forward and backward a hundred times on these mounts, will the allen bolt have to be re-tightened?
And a side question: since these mounts are much more versatile where the mirror stalk meets the mount, do you think it's possible to mount GSX-R600 mirrors or any other OEM mirrors that have a shorter stalk?
Thanks!

FYI, The mirrors stems are not pinched on both sides as you are stating that they are with the stock mounts, but only against one side, and if you pull one of your mirrors off and look at the mount, you'll see that the bottom hole is a just a through hole for the head 8mm allen screw, and that only one side of the mirror stem tightens down against the other side of the mount that is threaded with one of the flat washers between the mounting hole between the mirror stem and the mount.
Having been involved in machining and part design for over 35 years, I can almost guarantee you that the reason Suzuki made the made the mirror stem so that only one side bares against the mount, is because if the mount was made so that it did pinch against each side of the mirror stem, manufacturing tolerances would have to be held much tighter on both parts and cost of the mirrors and the mounts would go up.
The wear on the mounting surfaces on both the mirror stem and mount would increase if the stem were pinched on both sides, which would require greater and greater force to be applied to the bolt to keep the mirror from moving due to repeated movement of the mirror in the mount, and at some point you probably would not be able to tighten the bolt tight enough to keep the mirror from moving, for as the material would wear away, the mounting surfaces would not be parallel to each other and you would have greater and greater point only surface contact.
It may appear that the mirror stem is pinched against each side on the stock mount, but when you pull your mirror off and closely look at it, you'll see that I am correct.
So again just to clarify, my two piece mirror mounts mount the mirror stem to the L brackets in exactly the same manner as they mount to the stock mounts.

The items are as advertised. I bought a pair a couple of weeks ago, installed them, and have had no issues since. It's nice to see other things than my armpits with higher and wider bars installed. Considering the quality of the pieces, it's a fair price he asks for the product. I give Scott a big thumbs up for this one, and can recomend my experience in dealing with him a big +1!.

I've been real busy lately keeping up with making other parts that I sell on my website, but I have been able to start finally working on modifying my existing two piece adjustable mirror extenders to accept the GSXR turn signal mirrors.

Hi ElBandito, I went onto your page hoping to see the new extender you mentioned earlier, which would let me install the GSXR mirror, I personally love the ones from the 1000R and would like to put them on, using your parts. Can you let me know when I can eventually purchase them from you? Thanks
