Has anyone given thought to possibly replacing the F's existing mirrors with the R's signal mirrors ? Seems like this could clean the front end up a little and possibly be a little safer being they are up higher.
I don't think the wiring would be too difficult, I guess the bolt locations and mirror length would be the only real issue . It may not even be an issue, maybe someone has tried this?

I've tried it and it doesn't work as is. The bolt locations for one as you mentioned are not compatable and the angle the mirror bases sit are also a problem.
I have some gsxr mirrors and I haven't given up yet but am working on other things at the moment. I think it could be done with some creativeness I just don't have the time to invest in it right now.

Thanks Streaker, I was just about ready to buy a used set and experiment . Looks like I would have just turned back around and sold them off on Ebay.
Maybe the aftermarket will produce something in the future .
Does it look like it might be possible to graft the mirror from the R onto the stalk from the F? Wondering if the ball and socket are compatible, even though this would mean running the wires on the outside of the stalk .

Hey just thought I'd toss in another option. The kan-o-tuna mirrors will also fit our bikes, although they don't sit flush against the fairing due to the fact they don't have recesses in the mirror base. But could probably be resolved with the right size drill bit. Also I found these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuki-G ... QQtcZphoto
They were originally labeled as 99-08 Suzuki Katana 600 750 Hayabusa INTEGRATED MIRRORS.
I also thought this would be a good idea/ look for the 650F. Has anyone else had any luck changing the mirrors out?

Just my two cents on how I dealt with the issue of the funny looking indicators and the short-stemmed mirrors.
I purchased mirror extenders, which are about 1" of hard plastic that just fits between the base of the mirror and the faring, giving you a better view behind you. IMHO, also looks a bit better.
I have now just ordered some MoTrax Faring D Lights (Clear) which sit flush on the faring - order online from intobikes.co.uk or CycleGear.

I looked at them signals at our local cyclegear store in ABQ. I had one of the guys that work there light them up with a battery to see how bright they were.
I liked them but only thing I was concerned about is that if you were to look at them from the front, you can't see them turned on. You can only see them from the side. I think DOT regulations mentions that they should be seen from the front.

I will have to wait and see how they look when I install them, but I agree it is possible the visibility will be obscured from the front. From my understanding though the guys at MoTrax wouldn't be selling them if they were illegal in the UK (they wouldn't sell me some smoke colored D lights for that very reason).
In any event I ride on the assumption that no one can see me and no one has any indication of what I'm about to do, so if they *can't* actually see my indicators it makes little difference...
