I know almost everything pertaining to exhaust has been covered, but does anybody by chance know what metal our pipes are? I was considering polishing out and burning them blue, but figured I'd ask before I try it and turn it brown or something and find out that its aluminum.

You mean the exhaust manifold or the muffler?

the manifold. basically from where its visible from outside the fairing underneath right up to the muffler, then the muffler tip. Im thinking its all just steel, and I would need to go to and ehaust shop and have it redone in titanium.

I think this would look amazing on the blue/white gsxf

But I did come across this site, and sent them a message to see if whatever they do will stand up to the heat... If it does I would like to send them everything, muffler and all.

I dont think you cant do anything to the standard manifold. Where the Bandit 1250/650 has stainless steel, the steel used on our manifolds is of inferior/weaker quality and needs the black coating to prevent rust/deterioration.

I wonder how it would look to just have my exhaust done then... and were it bolts on right under the foot peg all the way to the engine just leave alone. Maybe they have a blue paint that I could use in that area to keep it protected?

this is my exhaust... Do you think this part is a cheap steel as well? From the base of the muffler to the bolt on spot, it looks like somebody had it welded up to fit up to the rest of the exhaust.
