Well, after much thought, I decided to venture out into the -16 Canadian winters morning & buy a new leftover '08 650F in the only color that does it justice...Suzuki blue & white!!
I really didn't want to buy new due to the stealer's freight & PDI fees, but I still did pretty good. Anybody that says retail therapy doesn't work is full of S***!!
Quick question(s)...what does the tool kit consist of? I'm thinking about having heated grips put on, my hands froze on my last bike... recommended brands? Would heated gloves be more effective?
Anyway...I can't wait for spring, I'm 100% sure this is the right ride for me...it was a pretty easy purchase considering the $$$$ involved!

Thanks! Yes the orange is pretty sweet, but they only had one leftover '08, no '09's, I wasn't prepared to spend $1000 more for the orange...beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess!

Well done--the 08 in Suzuki blue and white(i've got the same)is faster, better handling, more user friendly, and gets 15% better milage. You'll like it. can't help re: heated gear, don't think we use that stuff here in sunny Southern California.---Luke

Congrats Panterafreak. You made the right decision. !!!!! Kats are a good bike but the 650F shits all over it.
The tool kit contains about a dozen pieces of all very cheap basic stuff. It is enough to be able to do most general things on the bike though. It's more like an emergency kit you use when your stuck on the road.
For the heated grips I think a few guys went with Oxford grips? Not 100% sure though.

I did put on heated grips, see topic heated-grips-t2263.html They work great with gloves which aren't too thick. You feel the heat. When riding with winter gloves, the effect is less.
I think, If it's possible, you'll be better off with heated gloves

I went with Oxford heated grips (the non-temporary ones). Even in below freezing conditions I only need to run them on setting 2 (out of 4 settings, 4 being the hottest), and that is while wearing my winter gloves. If you really want to ride regularly in cold weather, I found the unbeatable combination of winter gloves, heated grips and handlebar muffs (like these: http://shop.sydneycitymotorcycles.com.au/p/573833/oxford-delux-handlebar-muffs.html). I guarentee that with all three you will not need to worry about cold hands or fingertips, although the muffs can slightly interfere with your controls unless you build yourself a simple "bracket". Mind you, if it's cold enough you won't care about the mild inconvenience.
Oh yeah, the other thing about the oxford heated grips is that if you forget to shut them off, they turn themselves off before the battery is flat, leaving you with enough power to start the bike again (yeah, I have found this out the hard way). Or you could wire them with a relay if you are the handy type.

Banter? Fact?---Who knows---For me atleast it's the one in proper Suzuki livery(blue and white), of course that's the color of the one in my garage. My CB250 is the very best one ever in the best color ever(Honda red)---Fact or falacy?---Who will ever know. All we can do is ride what we have, have fun, and live life the best we can. And now which oil the best?---Ride safe Luke

Can someone tell me why the blue csx is quicker than any other colour,is this just banter or fact?
It's banter (or "trash talk"). They argue about the color on all of the model specific forums (I have seen the same "arguments" on the VFR, and FZ6 forums).
It's not a serious argument however (just "tongue in cheek", or playful arguing). Members are just having fun (obviously paint color won't make any difference to the bikes' performance).
P.S. The orange is MUCH more sexy (I have heard that members of the opposite sex won't be able to keep their hands off of you if you ride the Orange GSXF).
Actually, a group of Canadian researchers were working on this very issue late last year, but our Conservative government cut science & research funding so the program was put on ice. Several of the researchers have since spoken out...all but confirming the blue & white is indeed faster, but since the program was shelved we'll never know for sure.
