I don't want to install a centerstand. But I can see value og getting rear wheel off the ground, even if only for lubing chain.
So I understand there's this thing called a track stand that raises rear wheel by levering up on swingarms.
Is there anything in addition to the stand I'll need to buy to use the stand?
Like so many things, there's big variation in track stand prices. What critical features should I look for?

You will need the rear spools for the stand to work.Image

As Judd said you'll need the spools a.k.a. bobbins.

There has been some posts before on this forum for the stands with members recommending brands etc...
I think the popular choice was Pit Bull stands. http://www.pit-bull.com/ They might be in the top shelf section though. Not sure.
Do a Google search for either 'motorcycle race stands' or 'motorcycle jack stands' etc... and you'll eventualy find something you like.

Most reputable suppliers would hopefuly not stock or sell crap ones in this catorgory, so just comes down to your price range.
I wouldn't really go getting an Ebay made in god only knows where type for this sort of thing.

Judd, do our spools use 8mm or 10mm bolts? Harbor Freight has them for $4.99, but I don't know which to order. Thanks in advance!
