Hi all,

OK, so long story short is that sand left over in the road from after a snowfall is pretty darn slick :) I am fine, but am now in need a new right side fairing. There are some places online I can get one, but I am confused about what exactly to order. I have a 2008 K8 model. For example, I am looking at www.dealercostparts.com and see this page:

http://www.dealercostparts.com/pages/pa ... uzuki.aspx

(Sorry, you have to work your way down to the gsx650f page, not sure how to link that one directly into this note).

In the parts list, there is a right side fairing, part number 94470-17H10-YAY for $272.38 (US $$). However, there is also a Right side fairing listed as part number: 94470-17H00-CWH (and ...-EGR) for $489.98. Am I missing something here? Has anyone bought new replacement fairings and can explain the difference?

I had the bike checked out and there is no mechanical damage, only the fairing and cosmetic stuff.

I need the turn signal as well, and the heat shield and "protector" that were destroyed with the fairing. All the mounting hardware is still there.

Anyway, just curious if anyone had gone through this process and could explain the differences that I am seeing?

Thanks!

The last 3 letters stand for the colour code. YAY is complete Black fairing. Dont know what CWH is.

Otherwise take a look here for the colours with corresponding part numbers.

Guess the CWH is the White/Blue fairing of the K8 model.

Put my foot down at a stop today and had a tense moment for the same reason, thick sand where my right foot put down. Sorry to hear about your bike. Be careful out there!

The Last three digits are the colour code;

YAY - All Black
CWH - Blue + White
EGR - Black + Silver (Yours, If your bike is like your avatar)

When you order, you will also need to order the heated shield and foam for protection against rad, Suzuki do no supply these parts fixed to the panel, they come seperate.

Man, that's expensive.

I rode today for the first time this season, dodging big patches of cinders, sand, dirt, and horse feces (I live in PA).

Frozen feces is no laughing matter, I'll tell you that right now.

Somehow I managed to serf the road hazards and made it home!

Hi guys,

Thanks for your help! Stands to reason I would need the more expensive ones! :) Heck, it is almost cheaper to get TWO of the solid black ones. That would look pretty good....

Thanks again for you help, now just have order the parts.

I say keep your eyes peeled on ebay!

The most of the damaged fairings I find on ebay are lefties, and right ones lately have looked really good. if you get a used part, chances are, it'll have the heat shield, and things already on it.
