Hi, A pickup truck tipped over my motorcycle in the parking lot. Right side fairing is gone. My gsx650f is an 08 fast one, I mean black one. I obtained a used right side fairing from ebay but it was for bronze or gold coloured gsx650. Anyone have any advice on painting this surface? I figured I'd take off all the decals and paint it gloss black to match the left side. Need info on 2 things:
1. Best way to remove decals on the fairing w/o messing up the fairing surface. 2. Best paint to use to paint it black. I wanna make sure the paint sticks to that plasticky surface.
If a pickup knocked your bike over, isn't it he who have to pay for the damages? Then you could go to a Suzuki dealer and get it all fixed, with brand new original fairing.

ebay link for levers not working, thier not cheap mitation race levers are they?
VERY BAD IDEA, if so. They can lock on your brakes whilst riding, happened to my boss' mate on a very mint busa. Not so mint anymore, more Completely F'#;ed, Considering he was doing in excess of 100mph at the time. had bike turn up on sat to the shop recovered in due his brakes locked on, has cheap levers on, werent installed in the right place, bu were gonna warn him bout how dangeous they are.
But anyways, yh remove decals, key the surface, then spray with correct type of paint for bodywork

I am using replacement levers I got off of eBay. The ones I got are not the cheap shorties though. They are the full size levers and have a bronze bushing where the pivot bolt goes through, just like the OEM levers do, to ensure the levers don't bind up. The immitation pazzo levers do not have that bushing, so you'll get aluminum on steel at the pivot. Doesn't seem like a good idea at all.

the bike we got recovered in the other day, had bronze/brass bushings, had the dimple in for push rod, but wasnt inline with the rod, had to remove lever and install correctly, but wont stay in the proper place due to it not being secure in the hole, has a wire clip stopping it falling out, thats it. and the dimple was just that, not a hole
