Here in the UK we have to choose which octane of fuel we wish to purchase, either 95 or 97. Just wondered if anyone has an opinion on which on to use or prefer, and reasons why, and if anyone has seen an improvement in performance when using 97, or should I just buy a 1250!

Thanks GSXRider. Were on the same wavelength. Is they a big power difference between the 2, without stating the obvious! I love my 650 as it is so forgiving, not that I make a lot of errors, but it is so easy to ride. I often do longer rides at weekends, never tour, and love itr. Would I feel the same about the 1250 or is there anything to be aware of?

There is a MAJOR power difference between the 650 and 1250. The 1250 generates about 90% of its torque (80lbs/ft) at as low as 3k rpm and that number is almost twice as much ours makes at 10k rpm (44lbs/ft)
You can set it in one gear and never need to shift again, untill you need to stop
My 'perfect' bike would be the 1250 powerplant in a GSR frame and GSXR Brakes and Suspension. Having something like this in a 100lbs lighter frame would just be ....... orgasmic Since that day will never come I'm probably switching to a Speed Triple (already wanted a naked bike).

o ya BIG power difference.....
I ride with my wife (she's not afriad to open the throttle) we race off stop lights alot and i give her about a 25 yard head start and pass her before i shift in to 3rd gear.
now really the only difference between riding the two bikes is below 15 mph you feel the weight difference. it's not bad but you will need to get use to it. Also like kadett said not alot of shifting you can do 35 mph in 6th gear and still have a lot of power to move when you want to.
