Well, i have my bike test in a couple or three weeks and between now and then i am buying my GSX650F. I have been reading here for the last 2 weeks almost seemingly non-stop....
I have been around the track in terms of looking at many other bikes - here's the path I took: Bandit 650K6 - CB600 - Bandit 650SAK7 - CBR600 - Bandit 650K8 - new FZ6R - Bandit 650 (all) - SV650 - and.....ddrrrrrr, tadaaa--->GSX650F. This feels so right!
My question (maybe needs posting in another thread) relates to buying new. I love the new orange colour bike and money isnt challenging me too much at this time since ive been working in africa for nearly 6 months non-stop and have only spent from my daily expenses! Hurrah!
But, my new found friends, establishing that i can bare the brunt of the 'drive-away' depreciation that i would be 'smacked' with, i am fairly certain this bike will do for me until i have attained some 5,000 miles or more; maybe 2 years. Since i will hereonin be working off-shore for 2-3 months away with 5-6 weeks break in the UK (home) where i will get lots of play-time. Warranty is surely a good thing, as will be the running-in period which will definately keep my right wrist a little more sedate than if i have a 'carte blanche' set-up... which again must be a good thing.
Any thoughts and experiences you guys would be kind enough to convey will be well received and taken into account.
Other immediate thoughts are relating to - Crash pads / bars, xenon lights, colour coded hugger, panniers / bags, tinted screen, carbon exhaust (vanity only...sorry, lol ), and chain self oiling unit like a Scottoiler. Standard tyres ok?
I would after like to keep as original as possible unless you guys show me more bike candy that i simply cant resist! (most likely!!)
