here are pictures of replacing both levers. I broke my clutch lever three days after I bought my F. it was a stupid kick stand incident.
it is a avery easy project. I bought black levers from ebay (planet bolts) for 25 bucks. they arrived in about 4 days.

pay attention on h ow the old ones come out. there is nothing special but it will make things easier.

1. remove the old handles first. On both sides you must remove the lower nut first, then remove the upper bolt.

2. transfer the copper thing from the old clutch to the new one. the original grease is super thick and holds the piece in place. I used military grade silicone that wasn't thick enough to hold the piece in place while I installed it. I will replace it with the right stuff should the silicone be inappropriate. (I'm assuming it needs replacing but it will last for now).

3. re-install the new levers. Top bolt first, then the lower nut. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN

total time (with picture taking) was about 20 minutes. I broke the OEM handle so quickly I don't really remember it, but I am pretty sure the new clutch handle is farther away from the handlebars

File comment: removing the brake bolt is easy but you need to get access to it by gently moving that lower thing out of the way (it must have a name but I don't know it)

File comment: piece just slides out. dont let it drop too many times to the ground. if it gets chewed up it wont pivot. (Mine dropped twice and it still works)

File comment: this is a front view showing both upper and lower bolt/nut. Remove lower first.

Very nice job on the How to Grooveydog. :D
Let us now how it works out if they are comfortable etc and if the paint and stuff holds up ,with some aftermarket leavers the paint wearing off easy.
Yours looks like a great finish in black. 8)

groovydog,
THANKS!
Guess who broke his clutch lever within 72 hrs after buying the bike??!!!
This is one replacement I'll be able to do myself.

Hey guys,

I was wondering what the disc with the numbers on it is? I think that it's an adjuster but when I tried the settings it all felt the same to me. I don't have the manual on my bike yet. The dealer ordered it, so I should have it soon.

Thanks in advance,

John

It moves the lever closer or further away from the bars to shorten or lengthen the distance you have to pull.

I found with the stock levers, changing through the settings 1-4 did not make that much of a difference.
Measuring min to max of the 4 settings with the lever off the bike, it made a difference of 20mm.
So I'm not surprised that Eagalicious did not notice any real variation either with the settings.
I changed my levers out for a pair of ASV and the adjuster gives a huge range of adjustment. About 75mm is possible.
