Just a wild guess, were you having a hard time with the lil spring loaded wire clip that holds the lightbulb in the headlight housing?

Oh yeah lol. I ended up removing the spring, which I didn't need to do. Ya live and learn. It's funny that you called that one out though.

Thank you all for your input! It looks like a HID system may be just what I need. I think my main concern with the HID w/o a projector was blinding oncoming traffic. FYI, just signed papers this afternoon for 6800 OTD on a blue 08' still in the crate. Not too bad considering other local prices. It will be nice to rid myself of that *#$(# buffeting I had with the Vstrom...glad I sold that thing. I'll post pics once I get her home.

congrats on the new bike..

I did HID's on both high and low beaw without projectors and I run with the high beam on 90% of the time. At night I have never had a car flash me saying the high beam was too bright, and i've stood in front of the bike with them on and don't really get a blinding issue.

I also have a full HID system on my car.. Highs, lows and fogs. the lows and fogs are projector style and I find that with projectors on the car it tends to dull the light almost too much.

40hz.... I have the XenonRider HID kit and I can not get the spring clip to go on with this bulb. With the metal of the stock bulb it slides on easly but the HID bulb ... it's seams impossible... I messed wit it for about and hour and a half. What did you do to get it on.
