Hey Guys,

What a great forum this is.... anyways. Can anybody recommend a motorcycle stand for both front and back that works well with the gsxf? I am not looking to spend a lot of money, but am interested in doing some basic maintenance myself including changing the tires which at 6400 miles are starting to wear.

Thanks guys!

-Adam

I use a rear stand and spools from T-Rex Racing (http://www.t-rex-racing.com/). Very solid construction, works well, and is reasonably priced. I don't have any experience with front stands.

Good luck.

Did you use their swingarm spools as well?

I got both my front and rear stands from Pit Posse. They're cheap in price and the quality is pretty good. I paid about $170.00 for the pair with shipping. I have been using them for over a year without any issues. When using the front stand, the bike has to be perfectly level or it will be lifted incorrectly and can tip over. The rear stand can be used when slightly unlevel and it kinda adjusts itself. The rear stand can be changed to be used with spools or just the swingarm and can be adjusted for various swingarm widths. Here's where I got 'em.

I use pit bull. I love the front stand, because it attaches to the frame where it meets the support for the front fork (sorry, can't think of the exact name for the part) so it leaves the front forks and wheel free to work on.

IMO get a head lifting stand like this one

That way you can get the fornt wheel off the ground and do work on the forks all with the same stand.

The front stands that lift at the bottom of the forcks are only really good for doing the front wheel.

I use Pitbull stands for both my sport bikes.

http://www.pit-bull.com/

they are a little more spendy then other stands I have seen, but they are worth it. I purchased a set of front / back stands for $100 and the welds on the grab handle snapped as I was listing the rear of the bike.. This could have been very costly if I had not been quick enough to catch the bike as it was falling onto the right side.

I bought it with a coupon at Harbor Freight a while back, it ended up being $199.00 (on sale) when all was said and done.

It's $359.99 right now...
