I got my Temporay Permit (learners permit) yesterday. I suited up and took off this morning and put 36 miles on her Oh man!! She was so smooth and comfortable. I cannot believe what I have been missing all these years. Anyway, I was cruising around town when all of a sudden I heard this lil beety horn and a screech of tiny brakes then SPLAT!!! I never laughed so hard in my life It was absolutely great. I kept her below 6k rpm since I am breaking her in. I made sure that I downshifted when coming to a stop and so on. Oh man, the Shoei helmet (RF-1000) that I got was sweet as well. The wind noise was so minimal even at 60 mph. Anyway guys and gals, I hope you are riding safe and having fun. Check ya L8r,
John
P.S. WOOO HOOO!!!!

Congrats John!!!!!!
You'll be a hard man to catch soon (don't meen from speed, but always out on the bike)
The bugs can be hillarious at times. I like the ones at night that you can see coming with the glare of light then....SPLAT!!!!!! Just wait until you've got so many splattered all over your visor that birds start chasing you down for a feed.

I havn't had a bird hit my chest, but have had a lorikeet hit my lid. Poor bugger was stunned for about 30min, then came out of it and flew off.

Oxbow, have you really had a bird hit you? haha.
sure did. a few years ago on my old Harley. Good sized egret right to the chest at 70 mph. Damn near knocked me off the bike. Killed the bird, hurt like hell.

I ran over a small dog and killed it with the F when I first got it. Little fucker ran right under my tire. Made me pretty sad because it was someones pet. Amazingly the F handles small dog sized bumps like a dream.

I can see the dog in doggie heaven explaining, "Yeah, and F'n "F" (650F) got me"
