I am new on this forum, so it seems like a good idea to introduce myself. My name is Deirdre, i'm 29 and living in Holland (Rotterdam). I'm the proud owner of a blue/white GSX 650 F GT since August this year. I will try to put a picture in this post, but i'm not sure it will work (not very handy with computers)...

Anyway, very nice to meet you all. I hope to read a lot of interesting things on this forum. :D

The side panniers are standard with the GT version in the Netherlands. The GT version is almost the same als the "normal" gsx 650 f. The side panniers are added, a different windshield and a centerstand (i don't know if that is the correct word). Everything to make a Grand Tour easy! :)

Hi my name is Rudy,

I finally decided to logon although I have to admit I have been visiting the site for a while. As a matter of habit before purchasing a bike I read a forum to see if I can get some good support for future farkles. It's also a good indicator for possible problems that a bike may have, therefore I will check a forum before I buy.
Been riding for bout' 35 years and been blessed to ride many bikes. I stumbled onto the GSX after and expensive issue with my FJR prompted me to change. I have notice that this bike seems to have the full spectrum of owners from newbies to geezers( I happen to fall into the latter). Just a word of encouragement to all of you. I have been so thoroughly impressed with this bike and have truly enjoyed changing it into a mid-weight tourer. It truly is a phenomenal mount.
Thank you all for helping me chose the must-have's (16 front sprocket, new seat, etc.) I look forward to sharing my experiences and gaining from yours. New at this forum thing so bare with me if I screw up some forum etiquette.

Rudy

Hi all,
I'm a newbie from Brisbane, Australia. My name is Lorelene, but please call me Loz. My husband taught me to ride when we met 5 years ago. I started on a Suzuki GN250 (quite old but the BEST little red devil ever).
Now we are planning to ride half way round Australia in Oct 09, so it was time for an upgrade. My husband and all his mates ride Suzuki's so it was my first stop. Test rode the GSX650F and also a Honda Hornet. But the Suzi won hands down.

I've got a full black 2008 model. I love the blue fleck in the paint, but eventually I wanna take the stickers off it and pad out the seat. I can't wait to put a more slimline exhaust on it (the standard one is HUGE!)

Welcome Loz, I hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoy my baby. They are awsome!!!

I am a new rider, and just broke 600 miles on her with not one issue at all.

Take care and ride safe and look forward to seeing you on the rest of the board :D

John

Newbie here. Just picked up my new '08 in fast black and silver. Rode it 30 miles home. A very sweet bike. I've been lurking here the past couple weeks doing my homework but have now officially joined the club.

Welcome to the forum Giles and congrats on the purchase.
The 650F is an addictive bike. Before you know it a 1 mile trip down the road turns into a 30 mile ride every time.

Cheers. BB

Thanks, and yes, had to take a 20 mile cruise to breakfast this AM! When I got back I cleaned it up a bit. And did I mention it before? This is a really nice bike! It is better than I expected. You guys are onto something.
No mods yet, so it looks like any other new black '08 model....

Introductions - Dave, From near Leeds, United Kingdom. Came back to riding about 10 years ago. Moved from GS500 to DL650 to GSX650F. Just got the machine 2 weeks ago, and given that its dark nights and winter I'm having trouble putting on any miles. 2008 machine, came with 3000 miles on it. Fitted with Givi rack and luggage, R&G crash bungs, Bagster tank cover, centre stand. Need to add hugger and fender extender as soon as cash permits. Want to change stock tyres - will probably go for Continental Road Attacks as they have served me well in the past. Already lost my balance trying a u-turn and scrubbed the crash bung and mirror. Managed to lift it myself on adrenaline. Managing to get about 55mpg on the two tanks I've used so far. Mainly used for commuting in and out of city for work.

Hi everyone, just picked up my 650f in blue and white. Have already done 100 miles over the last week and am running it in keeping it under 6000revs. It's my first big bike after passing my direct access course in the UK a couple months ago. The bike is amazing and look forward to a run out in it whenever I can. :D :D
Cheers. Dan

Welcome, Dan!
You have fair number of 650F owners over there in UK and maybe some of you will get chance to share cup of java (or a pint!) and compare 650F notes on some of these cold winter evenings.
There are alot of great guys/gals on this forum to answer questions you may have. And we look forward to any/all tidbits you can share!
