YEAH BABY 1K miles
I have been riding for a month now, 2 weeks around my apartment complex and 2 weeks on the road, not bad huh? I love her to death. I have been getting compliments left and right about my bike. Cagers give me the thumbs up, people in the parking lots stare at my bike and say nice bike. When I stop at gas stations or red lights, bikers that stop next to me compliment my ride, then we get honked at cuz the light turned green She is absolutely an aswome ride and I hate having to go to bed now One question though. I consider myself a conservative rider, so I change gears between 4 and 5k rpms. I was wondering, what rpm do you guys change at and do you think I am in the zone for the best gas mileage or should I change sooner or later or keept it there.
Thanks a bunch in advance. <Sheila calls to me> Welp, time for more hump'n and bump'n in public!!!!
Ride safe all,
John

when I'm just cruising around I change at 6k. When I'm having some fun it's anything up to 11k. I like to vary it a bit and not just have an engine capable of hitting 13k only ever go up to 6k. The nature of these engines are to produce power at high revs, so I certainly use it the way is was built
For good fuel consumption between 5-6k is perfect. I think 4k is a bit low to be changing gears at, as you are just not working the engine enough.

Thanks bud, I will adjust
<Update> Welp, I went out for a spin after I read your response and... WOW! I noticed a big difference. She feels sooo much better. I wound up cruising 60 mph in 4th gear and she felt as did I, real happy. Thanks for the advice bud.
I have to get the cager gear changing ratio out of my head

Like BB, I cruise around town at 5-6000rpm, occasionally shoving 1st to about 10k if I'm being naughty. On the open road, will cruise at 100kph in 3rd maybe 4th gear. Get a great exhaust note that way !!
