Here is a cheap and easy DIY camera mount for the bike.
Seen it on the net and made one my self.
Go to the hardware store and get some heavy duty plactic gardening tubes and conectors ,cost $20 .
You need ...
1. T section.
1. extension tube.
2 .end caps.
A .bag of zip ties.
1 .bolt .{that fits into the bottom of you camera}.
1. bunny ears nut.
Tools needed....hacksaw and drill.
First put some clear tape or some sort of tape over the bars ,so not to scratch the black bars.
Cut the T sections width to fit between the handle bars neck.
Cut the T sections bottom in half so it can sit Around or on top of the bars.
Fit over bars and zip tie it.
Drill hole in the top of the end cap ,and screw in bolt and put bunny ears nut on.
Put end cap on the extension.
Screw it on the the T section on the handle bars.
And screw on camera and tighten up bunny ears nut and when the camera is tight and faceing forward.
When not in use ,take the extension off .
You don't want to come off and have that bolt hit you in the guts on the way over the bars.
And add 2nd end cap for looks when not in use and if you want to leave the T section on all the time ,will also stop water getting in and pooling. .
The day or over night trip is over ,just cut the zip ties and put it away till next time.

I've seen the video you're talking about. The materials cost a total of like $5.00 altogether. Instead of clear tape (or in addition to clear), someone suggested using rubber tubing to fit in between the PVC and the handle bars. One, for protection against scuffs and scratches and Two, to act as a damper to help with vibration.
I'm assuming the camera is looking through the windscreen instead of over it, right?
Thanks for sharing. Now I have an idea of how it will look on MY bike.

Yeah ,cameras looking threw the screen .
I used a clear contact ,its like a think plastic which is sticky one side.
Stays on the bars all the time and you can't see it.
I originaly just seen a write up with a few pictures and he used plumbing pipe and was glueng them all together it looked messy ,but seems there is a video on how to make it now ,might be the same guy ,but I can't find the original write up.
Again they use thin plumbing pipe ,I tryed that ,but the thicker gardening pipe is better and you can get extension and angles to screw in and suit your bike and just use long zip ties ,a bag of 50 is $1.
Won't wreck you bars and easyer to put on and take off .
Either way it's a good idea from who ever thought of I ,I live mine.
Here that video.

Hope to see some videos soon.
Yup, that's the same video I saw. I like your idea of using a gardening pipe. The only thing I didn't like about the video was the white PVC pipe. That would look horrid on my black bike. The black pipe and zip ties are much better and cleaner looking. I have a big group ride coming up this weekend. I think I will try to get one installed on mine and see. Thanks again!!
You the man . . . or . . . uhh, (sled)dog . . . or well, . . . you know what I mean.

I'm gonna try one modification to the camera mount. I found a mini tripod (with 4" legs) at a $0.99 store the other day that is made for backpacking. I'm gonna split the top of the T and clamp all three legs into the upright part of the T. This will give me a standard camera tripod mount that will also fit most video cameras.
I'll try it out on the weekend and let you know.

I made another mount for the forks ,can't find the post .
I may of made it when the site was down.
Take the reflector off the forks ,add a L bracket...cost $3. Get a longer L bracket then the one in the picture ,so the camera has more to sit on...add 2 cable ties ,just be sure it doesn't move or fall off....works well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvNcSVWsa-s

Brilliant idea , I was thinking about mounting a camera and as if by magic ohere's a post t0 showing me a cheap( my favourite) way of doing it. I've just made mine up out of bits from the shed and have found that I have a HDD Hard disk camcorder that literally shits its self if you go near the bike when it is running and and a stills camera that that runs out of power after about 6 minutes of video capture so none are ideal for running on the bike .so what kind of camera do you use or can you recommend any?
Any of these cheap cameras ,will do ok .
Thats the one I got.
I can take about 30 minutes of film and pictures all day and have battery and memory left over.

If not too much trouble, can you repost pics as I can't see them. Thanks!
