Anyone know why U.S. Suzuki hasn't released most of the 2010 models on the U.S. web site?

from what i have read, bike sales were down 41% in 09 overall in the US (around 390, 000 units) and they (suzuki)have a glut of inventory, they will not release 2010"s until this clears, read some sort of press statment somewhere.

+1
Recently saw some scuttlebutt somewhere (real authoritative, huh?) that SOME 2010's MIGHT be avail in States in June. :?: :?: :?:

I even read it in my local bike mag ,No bikes from suzuki for the US in 2010 .
But if they sell out all stock from the wearhouse then ,suzuki US will get you a 2010.

Great! Since there aren't any leftover 2009 GSX 1250F's sitting on my dealer's showroom floor, he should be able to get me a 2010, straight from Japan (or maybe from Canada)!

They should do a deal. Buy a Helmet, set of leathers, boots and gloves and get a free 08 650F.

My local dealer had the 2010 650F on the showroom floor late November last year. 8)
A guy at my work bought a 2010 model GT650 Hyosung from them in March 2009. :?
I'm hoping by April they will have the 2020 Hayabusa in for me.

Do you guys think or know if the dealers will keep the price high for the 2008-09 bikes and its take it or leave it .? as there is no 2010 bikes coming.

Feel sorry for the buyers of today as they will pay high or a 08 -09 model and then 12 months later the 2010 models will be the same price and after they have used this bike for a stepping stone and want to upgrade ,their used 08 will be up against a used 2010 for the same price ,on the used market in 2011.

Last time i was in my local shop, the price was about $1,000 USD cheaper for the new one. The really bad thing is that one grand will not offset the depreciation value. The insurance company does not care when you bought but just the year its made. With that said, I will order my 2020 before BikerBoy gets his

That is about what I figured.
This is like what they did in 1985, with only a couple of new 1985 bikes and bunches of leftovers from 82-84.
Thanks for the info.

Won't be the same this time. There were 40% fewer Japanese motorcycles made in 2009, compared with 2008, and there will be fewer 2010s made than 2009s. The manufacturers won't be caught out this time.

The dealers will be a different story (VERY many dealers in the US have gone under).

Although there may be some decent deals over the next couple of years, if you are waiting on a killer deal (like they had in the mid 80s), you will probably be disappointed. With the deficit spending in western countries, inflation is going to come back, and things like motorcycles will be a luxury.

Maybe Obama can give billions to the U.S. motorcycle dealers. Everybody else is getting our U.S. tax dollars.
