I know and have read that our bikes are pretty much bandits with fairings... how true is this?

A friend of mine likes my bike, but likes the plastic-less look of a bandit.

He wants to know if I would like to go in with him when getting upgrades... so I figured he can order 2 slip on exhausts for his bike and i can put it on mine?

what about sprokets? and also wheels?

Why would you want to change wheels - even if they did fit?

I think a lot of parts that fit the Bandits fit the 650F

I have the SW Motech toprack and the Givi sideracks that fit the Bandit. Same for Sargent seat. Ditto throttle speed control. Likewise for rear hugger, handlebar risers, tank bra, carbon fiber trim parts, Two Brothers exhaust. Whew. Forgot I put so much stuff on the bike.

And lastly, the 650F uses the same gas and oil as the Bandit, as well as same type of air in the tires. Sorry, couldn't resist. My bad. Comes from hibernating in the Chicago winters. I miss riding more than I thought.

There are differences between the 1250 bandit and the GSX650F so some things are different around the bike.

but

GSX650F = GSF650 + dress

anything on the fairing is different xsept for the indicators but apart from that the underwear is the same

Not sure which year GSXR your looking at but front may fit size wise but you will have to be careful of disk and calliper locations. Not sure if GSXF disks will fit GSXR wheels either. Look into it

Back wheel will most likly not fit. A quick google shows this years GSXR with a 180/55 tyre which means it could have a different width wheel (more than likely) to the GSXF

look into it carfully and more detailed before pulling the trigger on the GSXR wheels

If you do the labour of pulling all the stuff off your bike, you may get the GSXF wheels painted for about 250 anyways. (your guna have to get tyres fitted to the new wheels anyway so that cost doesn't count IMO)

if you put the two bikes next to each other you will see they are nearly identical, but there are differences. For example the 650 has a 160 rear tire while the 1250 has a wider 180 tire, wider wheel, and unfortunately (for those of us considering the wider rubber) a wider swing arm as well. I assume the 1250 swing arm is a bolt-on, but not positive.
