Hey guys,

I am looking at buying the Givi V35 Side Cases. I am debating whether to buy the Matt Black case or get the Gloss Black and get the Insert painted to match my faster Blue & White bike. :)

Have any of you gotten the Insert painted?

Thanks
Lou

It would also be possible to have the Matte black one painted as well. A few primer coats would be needed in order to smooth the surface out, then it could be painted. Don't know if you would save a lot of money or not. If you're not going to do it yourself, then go by an automotive paint shop and talk with them. See what they would recommend and about how much it would run.

Why paint them, you should be able to get them for the blue/white model, i have the faster black model and the same bags, I have seen the blue ones on a bike on this forum, just dont remember where, I see you are in Canada as i am, try everything motorsports .com or twisted throttle .com, you could check with your suzuki dealer,

https://www.twistedthrottle.com/

http://www.everythingmotorsports.com/pr ... idaa107zz~

also check the givi site as they supply them to suzuki.

https://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productlist/69/

somebody has the right color plates, i got some painted once for another bike , 2 sidecase plates and a top case plate cost me $200

Make sure you know your color code for the blue, also have a look under the bandit 1250 accessories as these bags fit both bikes. They sure look good when there on the bike.

Good luck Maurice

By the way i just checked the suzuki canada site under accessories for the gsx650 and bandit 1250 ,

they list a blue for both the bikes, you will need the color code from the dealer to be sure, the 650 has the topcase and plate in blue, Has to be your blue ??? either ykz for the 09 or yba for the 08... (check these) or the 1250 has sidecases with several blues avail..... If you are only putting sidecases on the bike i have the sidecase racks still in the box for free if you want them, did not need them as i ended up going with the 3 pce set. good luck

Thanks Maurice,

I had been looking to find the correct color. The Blue on the 08 is YKY- Pearl Vigor Blue. The bags seem to be offered in the 1250 Bandit Colors, but not for the 650F. I was thinking about painting them myself and getting the paint thru Colorrite. I may end up asking my neighbour to paint them as he owns a Maaco franchise.

Out of curiousity where did you get your bags from? By the way your bike looks great with them!

I am going to just get the side cases- I'll take the mount off your hands, but I will pay for them. Please let me know the cost. Are they the Givi mounts?

Thanks again.

Lou

Hey Lou, I got the bags through Everything motorsports in the States,

http://www.everythingmotorsports.com/pr ... &ez=Suzuki Luggage ;amp; Racks~q=bidaa1413zzfidaa107zz~r=~

Bags are on sale at the moment till Feb 20th , cheapest price i have seen in Canada is around $800 for the bags only, I am a Truckdriver so i had the stuff sent to our US Office and the bought them home, Try Inglis Cycle in London and Racers Choice in Brantford,Ask for Doug in Brantford and mention my name, he knows me well and tell him you want a GREAT price.

I recently got a trailer painted here in Simcoe, he had some type of camera that he put against the paint on my bike .... 2 tone ..and attached it to a computer, it told him exactly how to make the paint and it matched perfectly .. amazing ,

From memory in Canada , best price i had for the Bags, top case, color plates and racking was around $1400 plus tax, the US price was around $900 or less.

My email is whiting57@yahoo.ca If you want to email me at home send me your phone number and i will call you if you require any further information, As i am a driver it may take a few days to get back to you as i leave tonight and will return fri evening. I may even have a couple of color plates and a topcase plate hanging around here that you could get painted as well as the side brackets, note if you go to the full set you do not need the seperate side brackets.

The bags fit well and look amazing when fitted, limited mechanical knowledge is needed to fit them or you could get your dealer to do it. Any question, just email me Maurice

Picked up the Matt Black bags and ordered a pint of the Suzuki Blue from Colorrite. I checked with a couple of local bodyshops and none seemd to be able to get the colorcode. I'll post up some pics when I get them painted- can't wait to get riding again. The weather was beautiful today here in toronto - about 15 C.
