I looked long and hard for the right jacket. (Wife now says I'm worse than she is at shopping) I thought I really wanted leather but... I have that bright nuclear orange 650F. Kinda hard to match with accessories. All the leather ones I tried didn't quite fit right or the padded areas were not in the right positions. And I looked like a Power Ranger reject and felt like a baked potato. So- enough of when super hero's dry cleaning goes wrong. I Tried several textile jackets at the persuasion of the store clerk and my quite annoyed wife. They were a bit more comfortable for my extra long arms but I looked like a school crossing guard or like I direct traffic from a construction site. 2 visits later, I settled on this:
http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L ... L277-BZ-44A Frank Thomas XTI jacket great for all seasons. At the first sleeve in, I luved it. It's warm and comfortable like a regular jacket but has the versitility to remove the muliple layers of lining and whatnot. Plenty of pockets that double as air vents. The store clerk said that if I had gotten the tight leather jacket, he would sell me a cape to match. My wife threw in some gauntlet thinsulated gloves and I wore the jacket while cooking her dinner.
