Hey Everyone, I just placed a deposit on a used 2008 GSX 650 F, It only has 583 miles on it and I got a nice deal. He is also including his F-10 HCJ Helmet which new is $250, I tried it on and fits pretty well. One less thing I have to get.
This is my first bike and my only real concern is the weight of the bike. Im not small by any means but im also not that big. 5'9'' 170lbs. Going to pick it up wednesday and load it onto a trailer. So Excited!
I just picked up one of the last 2009 Orange/Black models at the end of March and loving every minute of it. Weather has been pretty Michigan-like, but I'm finally at the point that I need to get the break-in maintenance done. Can't wait to open it up
I got my license last October and bought my first bike last Saturday. A brand new GSX650FA 2010, completely black I already planned it's 1000km service for next week. Great bike, so much fun to ride

Just got my first bike a couple of weeks ago. 2008 black silver 650f. Great bike. Still learning. Taking the safety course and driver's test in a couple of weeks. On my permit atm. Great forum. Happy I found it.
My name is Kurt, I am from northern British Columbia, and I just today bought my first ever bike. A nice shiny 2010 GSX650FA. Blue and white, brand new out of the box.....
I was only able to put on about 15 km today as it was starting to get dark. Hoping to put some more on tomorrow. Taking it slow and easy, need to break her in.

Hello everybody,
My name is Patrick, I am from The Netherlands, perhaps the first person from that country to post on this forum. I'm the proud owner of a GSX650F 2008 model in black. Fitted last weekend a centrestand on my bike and it's great! So much easier cleaning chain, rear wheel etc. Glad I bought the thing. The bike has done about 30.000 km and is great to ride. I previously owned a GS500E 1991 model, also in black. The difference between the two bikes is just enormous and a great step forward in horsepower en looks.
I'm glad the forum is back online because I could't reach it for a couple of weeks.

Hi All
Bought my 2008 GSX650F about 2 weeks ago. Had my eye on this model for a while and when a used one came up, I had to get it. Full service history, 18000kms, pazzo levers, yoshi R77 muffler, traditional Suzuki blue/white/red, and all for $6300AUD. Future mods include a 16 tooth front sprocket change, 170 rear tyre and tinted screen.
Hi all, been checking out the website for a while whilst I was shopping for a GSX650F and selling my 1998 Triumph Thunderbird (owned for the last 7 years). Well two weeks ago I bought a used blue & white 2008 GSX650F with 2,100 miles. I'm a 44 year old guy (5'-7" & 150 lbs) in southern New Jersey, USA. Really enjoying the new ride, it's really sweet. Previous owner put on a few carbon fiber goodies like a tank protector and fuel cap trim. I just installed a Holeshot Performance Products rear package rack and sissy bar; it actually looks good on the bike (www.holeshot.com). I wanted my wife and daughter to feel safe riding pillion. Plan to get the Givi V35 PLX side cases eventually.

Hi all, my name is Nick. I have been riding for 12yrs however without a decent set of wheels for some time now since the VFR800 a few years back. A new job starting next month requires me to be mobile and in Sydney the only way is on two wheels. I started reviewing the latest and greatest of bikes for commuting within my budget and short listed 2nd hand GSX1400 and CB900, new GSX1250f and Z750. I never owned a Suzuki however I always was keen on them.
I then decided to find the biggest dealer with the biggest range and in close proximity to some others to do one final canvass of models. This was Friday afternoon and I had been looking at this GSX650F for less than 20 minutes and I decided to test ride and crack the cherry of a brand new GSX650f black '09 model. 9kms later and I planned my strategy to make a great deal. I don;t normally buy from dealers however time is an issue for me at the moment.
I do not believe it is smart to buy anything on impulse. I visited 5 dealerships on Saturday and received a mix of wankers, assholes finally the last being the only one other sales person I would consider buying from so I found some competition. A lot of planning and due diligence just prior and then choosing to make the deal within the limits you planned.
Sydney City Motorcycles in Kogarah - suck eggs coz you lost the most seamless sale that was negotiated over the phone with a deposit given straight up when I decided on what I wanted. This could have easily been another bike such as an FZ6 but you refused a test ride despite it having 15000ks on it already because you are ignorant. Confusing seeing as I was holding my helmet and advised a bike will be bought today
Clayton at Sydney City in Campbelltown can be trusted. I tested him on a few occasions on Friday and over the phone on Saturday resulting in a verbal agreement on the phone that was finalised yesterday. He is credible and honest in his approach. He matched my needs to the perfect bike considering I would not have even considered it previously. He did not pressure me for agreeing on a price before test riding. When you test ride a bike, you either feel like it is the one or simply it is not. I was surprised with it and this is a skill the majority of dealers cannot achieve throughout a lifetime in this career. It was like he knew the bike will sell itself.
Clayton has yet to learn the bad habits and when you meet someone like this you need to stick to your word - as I did. He got the sale because I trusted him more than the other guy. I hope this is a reflection of the Campbelltown dealerships culture as opposed to just Clayton alone. The dealerships workshop is open to the public via large windows like a restaurant with a visible kitchen. They have professional equipment and look enthusiastic when they work. The future will tell whether my gut feel on their after sales service is warranted. If it is not, then no skin to do the work myself either way and maybe they should learn from this guy.
This site is great and thanks Sleddog for the tip. I look forward to contributing and learning from you guys.
Regards, Nick
Just a side point while I am at it Please note that I am on the cuff of purchasing a CARDO SCALA RIDER Q2 MULTISET BLUETOOTH HEADSET BIKE FM for $439. This kit has two headsets and two of everything else inc Australian charger - however I only need one. Considering the single kit costs over $300, I figure to sell the second lot of bits to someone for $220 whilst we retain the 12 months warranty with the single receipt. There are other SCALA models however the Q2 does what I need particularly works at high speeds and has FM comms. There are other brands however I am not interested in them as these are the benchmark. If you are interested, feel free to PM me. If you know of a cheaper deal for Aussie versions, please let me know via PM.
