So i love the 650f and i'm adding a new bike to my garage its either going to be the bmw 1200gs adventure or the s1000rr since i know that all of you love the 650f what would you get?

s1000rr all the way... My mate lost his license within 10days of owning so be careful...

It's just gorgeous and I even like it better than the Duc 1098

Good thing about the S1000R is that the stock exhaust is louder then aftermarket :) On trackdays stock S1000 get pulled from the track because they are to loud!

I havent been able to check out your replies until today and i just realized how awesome you guys are. Since some of you would like to know more about my style of riding before giving a reply, which i understand. The reason i am thinking about two completely different bikes is because of the trade offs.Such as.I do put some long days in from time to time like about 8 or 9 hour rides.1200gs.i do go down some rough roads that pushes my 650f to its utter limits,sometimes.1200gs.My wife can only put about 45min of total ride time in on the 650 before the ride becomes very painful for her.1200gs.

I live in the eastern panhandle of west virginia home to the best roads of motorcycle riding, seriously this is like a new frontier of great unknown roads. For the few people that truly know WV and where to find these roads they will travel great distances to ride them.I'm talking about enormous straight stretches with very few cop to civilian ratio. And they talk about carving canyons, these roads can be so twisty yet well paved that you will be feeling nauseuos, and because of these things i would love to have the s1000rr because i love the feeling of precision handling through twisties, milking the road for every inch and depending on top notch stopping power to slow you down before that next hairpin, and the feeling that if you had wings you would truly be flying that rocket like acceleration,i am truly addicted to that.S1000RR.

Then there is only 1 question left. How big are your chicken strips? If you rounded out the sharp edge of the thread/sidewall go for the S1000R. Anything less, the 1200GS.

Handling:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE4u6tsa-Yw See how the 1200GS keeps up with most Superbikes in the corner, only misses the power to keep up on the straights.

Ow and Top notch stopping power?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oWRARxRQgc

Any good bike ( not our bike :) ) has enough stopping power. Braking wise, I dont think you are a Moto GP rider that needs just that little more braking power that a S1000R has to offer over the 1200GS to commit you in buying the S1000R.

The only thing the S1000R has to offer more then the 1200GS for you is pure acceleration and thats no suprise since the S1000R accelerates faster then a Hayabusa.

I had the 650F and traded her in for a Suzuki B-King.Their getting harder to find. Before you go, no not that bike, check out this forum.

Love it, love it, love it. Unbelievable power, smooth, and very sophisticated suspension for great handling...and far less money than the Beemer, though that is an awesome bike. The B-King will suit a broad range of needs while the Beemer is more narrowly focused.

Good luck on your decision. Remember, Gen2 Busa engine. Mind numbing pull!...and I test drove a R1000S last week.

B-King is faster up to 100MPH and not that much slower after that speed. S1000R is a hell'ava bike but it's $16,000plus here in Michigan!
