just a little check next time you replace your brake pads:
had new tyres put on bike (maxxis) after approx 350 miles front end developed an annoying 'tick tick tick' mostly noticable at low speeds (below 20mph).
although it did not increase in speed i could rule out the obvious ones (bearings) etc, was told by a friend if you've replaced your brake pads within the last few months try take a look at them and calipers,so i did, found the pads had no 'grease' behind them so put it on and reassambled,lo-and-behold no noise!!!
a week later approx 140mls, tick tick tick its back again!!! thats it,bike still under warranty phone dealer explain what and take bike in.
after two test rides and two and a half hours head scratching three of us (two being mechanics) problem solved!!
new pads slightly approx 2-3mm smaller were moving up/down at a steady 'tick' rate when bike was in motion!
who would have thought that? not me obviously!

What brand of pads cause the problem?

Any After market brake pad will do this, only genuine pads will sit perfectly in the caliper, But the downside is that they are quite pricey.

Which Maxxis tyres did you fit??
