I recently decided that after the dust of a nasty divorce settled. I would buy another bike that I lost in previous said divorce. Now I must say I really wasn't much of a fan of crotch rockets since a drunk driver messed up my back 15 years ago, and I really can't ride them for any length of time without severe lower back pain. With that fact in mind, I started looking at some of the newer touring bikes, Yamaha, Honda, Harley, etc. Of course they all looked good, but the price was a little steep. on my 4th trip to the dealership, I started talking to a salesman about getting a bike, my concerns etc, he said, take a look at this Suzuki we just got in. the minute I sat on the GSX650F, I liked it. I'm 6'1" 235lbs, so I wanted something comfortable. This was it. the more I looked, and sat on it, the more I liked it. I went from the dealership to dinner with a friend, and on the way home from dinner, I stopped back at the dealer, and said I'll take it!!!!
I rode the bike home that same night, and the first thing I noticed was just how quiet it is, (a problem soon to be corrected with a Yoshimura TRC slip on,) the next thing was the nice balance of the bike. I was amazed as well as to how "solid" it felt driving home. The handeling was very good, and the more I ride it, the more impressed I get. I find excuses to go anywhere now, just to go for a ride. The most important thing for me is I don't get any discomfort riding 10-20 miles at a time.
I guess if I had to give it some cons, other than the muffler, it would be the windsheild is a bit too low for me, and the foot pegs seem to be a little too short for me. I'm sure I can correct these issues as well.
Overall, I think this bike rocks!!! I'm looking forward to doing some custom mods to it, as well as some custom vinyl decal work to it. I think I really made a good purchase on this one, and I got the faster blue color too!!!!!
