I can't answer all those questions quite yet, but I will tell you I specifically got this bike to turn it into a mid-size sport tourer! I think it's perfect personally

I'm headed that direction also. I'm seeking the back tail rack and set of bags. So far I'm so impressed with this scoot my HD has not been started since I rolled my Black/Silver F model in my garage.
Smooth. No peg vibration at all, the bar vib is minimal and the seat position seems to be just right for me. I may raise the bars up a inch.
I'm also going that avenue.
I made a 1300kms week-end trip under horrible weather and I can really say that I'm impressed with that bike.
It rained on and off and I also had side winds where I really thought that the bike would slip from under me.
Because of the wind, I grew new muscles in my neck, the windshield did'nt protect me a lot but it did protect my tankbag from getting wet.
I loved the speed response of the bike when I needed it when passing trucks, I could go from 115km/h to 140km/h in no time.
Now if only it came with heating and air conditioning!!
A friend of mine bought a tail bag last week for our trip and loved it.
Look at the Platoon tail bag. http://www.rapid-transit.com/rt/index.htm Since I dont like top-cases on bikes such as the GSX650F because of what they look like, I might buy myself one.

I think thats the route my wife wants to take too. She really wants some hard bags bad but I don't want to be too hasty. I really think someone will come out with some soon. At least we can hope anyway. She's using the Cortech sport saddle bags right now and a tailbag.
Not bad but not hard bags either.

Any luggage for the 07 onwards Suzuki Bandit would fit wouldn't it? I know the seat is different but the rear bodywork is the same I believe. Might need some more authoratative confirmation before ordering anything though!

I'll definitely look further into it. Thanx for letting me know. I haven't been much of a sportbike kinda guy over the years and my wife is getting me into things with this GSX650F that could get me into trouble.
Seems these things cry out for you to do dirty things to them.
Um, ok. They weigh about 5-7 lbs, but if you say so. That's far less weight off the front wheel than a passenger
Lots of hatin' of top cases going on in here. Here's a little hint about forums. If you want a forum to last....best to post things as "I *personally* don't like the looks of them," or "In my opinion, they don't look right" Not just say they suck all around or they are just butt ugly. Let's be a little considerate of what other people may or may not like. Your say so isn't the rule.

Have a look at these pictures of this touring set up .
Looks like the Bandit 1250 set up .
The bandit 1250 seat fits ,I tryed one of a bandit the other day ,fits straight on ,so you would "think" the bandit 1250 and the GSX650F is the same frame and tank and tail section.

Just having a look at the touring bike picture again ,notice the extra flip screen on top of the original ,a few people have asked about the extentions.
And did you notice the rear blinkers are moved up to where the rear grab rail is ,looks nice a flush ,like its all been pre-designed to more moved for this rack and bags.

I looked at the Recon 45 saddle bag installation instructions and it looks like it's resting on the turn signals and actually bending them down. Does anybody own these bags and if so are they resting on the turn signals? The tailbag looks good though. I wonder if it will hold my 15" laptop?
