OK so I'll play nice and get back on the topic...
Just a few points in support of my argument:

1. This bike has nice lines, and I'm looking to smooth them out some more with flushmount flashers etc. So to add more items that poke out is just a damn shame.
2. I don't let bikes fall over in the shed, or during a u-turn etc, and I primarily park in my own shed or the secure carpark at work. Frame sliders won't do a huge amount of good for me, and may actually cause more damage given I like riding fast.
3. I carry full insurance with a "deductible" of $500 - if I write the thing off, I get a new one for about the same price as a set of sliders.
4. People like me look at people with sliders and think "Fukn Crasher".

Get a track bike and put your sliders on that.
Don't crash your GSX.
Easy.

Why do you have insurance Nitekreeper ...planing for failure and covering your arse money wise?

Sliders are insurance and to some bling ,its not a bad idea for learners of this bike to get sliders as we have seen over the years the amount of people dropping it and costing say $800 to fix it up out of their own pocket and it doesn't push their insurance up for the next 3 years...Its insurance ,just in another form.
You are 100% on the money with take more leasons {another forum of insurance against a drop}with that money ,it will make your riding more fun and save you the hassel of fixing your bike up for silly mistakes and save you lot more in the long run.
For mine ,I don't have them its a judgement call for me that I think or hope I won't drop it {touch wood} and I think it will do more damage in a faster crash ,BUT could help to get the bike writen off and get a new one...its a 50-50 call with pros and cons.
If you want them go for it .

Because people steal bikes, and because people pull out on bikes - frame sliders won't help much in either case ;)
