Well I finally got to test ride the GSX650F last week whilst i was off work. All in all i thought it was an excellent bike. I have to be brutally honest - the first time I saw it i was not a fan of the looks but the second time she had definately grown on me.

The bike was so easy to ride and the fairing gave fantastic wind protection at highly illegal speeds which is why i tested it on private roads of course :P!

I had heard a lot about the weight of the bike before i tested it but this was not an issue for me at all whilst riding it - yes it was more difficult to push backwards with your feet whilst sitting on it but you could always just turn it around b4 getting on it in the first place!

Mirrors - gave a fantastic view behind me - again contrary to what i had read!

All in all i thought it was an excellent bike but i actually decided against getting one because i wanted something a little bit quicker - not that it isn't that quick and saying that in a few years i may well get one when there are more 2nd hand ones around on the market and use it as my daily workhorse and play thing when the weather isn't so great!

Hope some people find this of use!

Happy riding!

P.S. I test rode the blue/white one cos that is the quickest

I got the FZ6S2 - it is quicker, but also likes to rev. Check it out!

Motorcycle consumer news in the US has a true top speed of 141mph on the FZ6 and about 132.5mph on the GSX650F. It is the real speed, not indicated.
