My son turned me on to balestech.com, a company making a replacement coupling with 20x1.5 thread so less expensive and better quality filters can be used on most Suzuki cycles, I know this may not be a good idea while under warrenty, but I'm sick of paying 11 bucks at the dealer for a 3 dollar quality filter, I am using the Purolator L14620, it's 3/4 inch longer than the stock filters and has better quality filter media and more of it, even the Walmart ST7317 appears to be better quality than some filters I've bought from the dealer, just passing all this on for information purposes, do with it what you will, been using Purolator filters for over 40 years, not one problem yet, oh ya, Purolator makes Motorcraft for Ford Motor Company, just more info, later guys, daveg

If you had said they make the oem filter for Bentley it may have had some credence... Image

Interesting idea though.

Hmmmm, Purolator? if it didnt sound like a condom I may believe it could compare to a good true flo filter. But alas we dont get U.S filters readily off the shelf here in Oz. Besides OEM does just fine for me. As per my mechanic, change every 3,000k's when city riding and 6,000k's when highway touring.

Yo!

Just because Purolator makes the filters for Motocraft, doesn't mean that they make them to the same quality. I ran a Purolator Pureone filter on my VW only to eventually blow the two pieces apart, now if I ran something better it would have held up to the pressures I was running.... Disclaimer: I was running 20w-50, which worked fine in AZ; but in cooler MN, when I started the VW and running it for 100 feet @ 80psi, 5000 rpm or so the filter had it.... the rubber O-ring did not push out.

Now this was an "non-stock" 2276cc A/C engine and when I sent in the filter to Purolator for warranty of my engine (had 200 miles on it) and now has a knock to it. They said because it was not a factory application they could not help me...... Sorry I won't use there product again.
After I found out that Purolator has a low burst pressure I did some research and switched over to a wix filter that could have withstood the abuse that I was feeding it. I will admit, this was partially my fault.... but I have never seen a filter do this.
