Replaced both tires last week, have two Mich PR2's on. 170 on rear. Picked up a nail sort of thing already and tire is leaking ! slowly but none the less I'll have to put foam in it like my last fricken tire! My question is about rear axle torque...I've already read in other posts here to put 100 NM which is equal to 75 ft lbs on my wrench. this doesn't seem very tight...I'm using a decent torque wrench. I don't have a manual yet could someone tell me if this is spec? thx!

nevermind I found a second post confirming 72 ft lbs is indeed rear axe torque. that doesn't seem very tight but I read another post, stating to use nail polish to mark my indicators to check for movement over time. still pretty choked about the nail, drowning my sorrows in a cold beer right now!

you don't Want it to be tight. you don't want to pinch the bearings or bind up the swingarm, or anything like that. if you mess with the chain and keep it tight and lubed when you should, you don't need it tight anyway, since it won't have a real chance to loosen up.

I had the dealer adjust the chain for me last year. not sure what I was thinking! so this year when I went replace my tires and what not I almost had to use a snipe on the wrench to get the nut to break!!! It was retard tight!!! I'm 200 lbs guy and I had to put my foot and the wrench, hold the bike in the stand and put out big time to get the nut loose! I've marked the nut and axel with nail polish now like suggested just to keep an eye on it. I'm sure it will be fine. I'm trying to find a manual for it now on ebay. it cost just as much to ship per cost of the dam book!

Don't buy the manual, unless you particularly want a hard copy. There are links all over the place for online .pdf's.
When I tried to undo the axle nut after a dealership service, I had to use a breaker bar extended with a length of steel conduit, and like you I had to stand on the bloomin thing. Also like you, I am not light. I guess they may have tightened it to 73.7562149278 ft lbs.
Anyway, trust your torque wrench and go with what the manual says even though it may seem a little loose. I have always used the recommended torque on the axle nut and have had no problems.

There are threads on the site about replacing the front sprocket that talks about all the torques. I got lazy and went to Walmart and bought a $25 impact wrench, went to Sears and got the right socket. I have an old pancake tank compressor, and it had enough for loosening the axle. My Torque wrench maxes out at 75 ft lbs, but from my working on VW days (too broke to buy tools) I just use a breaker bar, my weight and a tape measure for how far out to step on the bar...haven't had a problem yet.
