This might sound stupid but I pulled my rec/rec unit tonight to see if it was on the recall items list. But... where on earth is the part number?

It's not printed on it that I could see. No sticker. Nothing.

Any clues?

Did you remove the big heatsink?
I'm not sure the part number will tell you anyway - wasn't the recall for the wrong type of glue rather than the wrong component?

You dont need a part number, only your bikes build date and VIN of the compliance plate.

Not sure if Suzuki UK are really slow but I received a letter from them yesteday inviting me to call my nearest service centre for a free recall swapout of the reg/rec. The bike was two years old when I bought it four months ago!

To be fair perhaps the change of owner triggered the letter. Could be the original owner did not bother to respond... Shame I can't get it done this weekend but we have a few flakes of snow forecast which means the entire country will grind to a halt!!
