Hello all,
I have a set of GIVI V35 side cases and PLX539 rack that I need to install on my bike. As most of you know the turn signals need to be relocated towards the rear to make room for the racks. The rack came with a mounting bracket, but I'm hearing that may not be the best choice. I searched the forum and did pick up some pointers. But before I start hacking away at my bike I want to make sure I'm headed the right direction.
For anyone who's done this, if you could offer some advise it would be appreciated.

Some guys put them on the side on the sqaure block with the number plate light in it. Check that spot out to see how it would work. Check your laws ,some turn signals have to have a certain distance between them.

I moved mine out of the way too. Here's a couple of pictures. Bought short aftermarket DOT approved turnsignals ( forgot the make). They were easy to install. I spliced and used the OEM connectors
Hey olim Unless I am mistaken the US DOT requires that the rear turn signals be no less than nine (9) inches apart from the center line of each Federal DOT overrides state DOT in most if not all cases as far as I know In WA you must have them on your bike if it was originally equipped with them if what I read is current The police might not be strict there at a traffic stop but you need to have them to pass inspection
I will be in trouble if I ever move out of NC because mine are smaller and so are not DOT approved

It is like helmet laws, it depends upon what state you live in Here in NC for example we do not need turn signals and we only need one mirror, however we do have to wear a helmet Just over the border in South Carolina (a few miles from me) you only need a helmet if you are under 21 and that applies to being "on-road" only, if you are "off-road" there is nothing required, not even a license
