I'm going there in April '22. I need your opinion: could I have problems to rent this bike because I'm a foreign tourist? This security bond is like and appointment in my credit card, right?

"BMW F650GS Dakar and Yamaha XT660R inc. panniers - 2 of each
Short term rental: min. 5 days (inc. insurance AU$3,000 excess)
AU$99 per day
Long term rental...
- for use of the bike up to 3 months (inc. insurance AU$3,000 excess) AU$ 4,590
- To reduce insurance excess to AU$ 1000 ($6.50 per day after 8 weeks) AU$ 13
Security Bond (Refunded when bike returned undamaged) AU$ 3,000"

BB, I'm sending you a message with my e-mail. Lets make this trip done!

It's going to depend on what licence you have (restricted or Full) to what you can hire and ride.
You need to get an International Motorcycle Riders Licence to legaly ride in Australia.
I'll find out about hiring the bike as a tourist for you but it shouldn't be a problem.

Got your message and sent reply. I'm definately coming.

Ok, I'll take care about the driver licence...

About hiring a bike, just please ask the shop guy how much do I need to pay if I deliver the bike in another city... I search for airplane tickets and its really cheaper if I left the bike in Sydney and catch a plane from there...

I'll check it out and give the bike place a call today and get all the info you need.

Flights from Melbourne to Sydney are $85.
I don't think they'll be able to freight the bike for that price.

I work in sydney and travel up and back the one hour every day so the travel doesn't bother me ,but the nights we will have a beer or ten.. :D .. I will stay at my parents place in the city. 8)

There is heaps of places in the city to get a helmet and gloves ,I have extras like tank bags and seat bags ,wet weather gear odds and ends that will get you threw ,like leather jackets or touring jackets ,if you hiring the bike in sydney and just staying around sydney.

I'm sure once your all set and dates booked and are 100% about to land ,we can arrange with our sydney riders over night ride some where .
I can take any day off work with 24 hours notice and I will will free to ride when your here. :D
