Anyone have any favourite tunes to listen to while riding? I'm hoping someone can share a song or two I haven't had the chance to hear yet. One of my favourites right now is "Ain't No Easy Way" by Black Rebel Motorcycle club. Also, I've never been a big fan of really heavy stuff, but Next Stop Hollywood by Baptized in Blood is a pretty cool song. Cheers

Don't listen to music, Like to listen to the purr of the engine & exhaust.

When I first started riding, I used my Ipod to block wind noise more than for the fun of cruising with some tunes. That was very short lived and do not use it at all on the bike. I consider it a distraction which could lead to an accident from not paying full attention.

First, like others who've posted, I don't play tunes often. Only when got many miles to cover on boring slab. Not in town, twisties, etc.. So, under circumstances of many boring miles to cover on super slab, I'm looking for variety in my tunes. Some old ballads, like Blue bayou There's no place that far Stand by me Lotsa blues, like BB King Howlin Wolf Clapton Stevie Ray Vaughn The Stones Lotsa rock n roll, like Beach Boys Beatles Ian Dury The Stones Clapton Some country, like Vince Gill Emmylou Harris Alison Krause Even a few big bands tunes Michael Buble Sinatra Dorsey Connick, Jr.

What I want to know is how can you get say a set of I Pod earplugs in your ears and keep them there while putting your helmet on. I ride with an Arai, perhaps other types better allow for it, I don't know.

You'll likely get better advice from the more experienced folks, but I'll post up first.
Size of earbuds DOES matter. Don't want sumpin that sticks out from ears. Skull Candy model works for me. Also, buds need to fit deeply/tightly in ear canal ... some buds are bigger/thicker than others. Use a doo rag on head that covers earbuds/ears. With some helmets, you can spread 'em a little while getting it on.

+1 to what knolltop said.
I dont use my ipod on the bike anymore but when I did I ended up buying a cheapish pair of earphones that has the clip that goes around the back of your ear to keep them in place and put the smallest sized buds on them.

I use JVC earphones, sort of the poor mans Skull Candy ones. Usually only wear hearing protection for higher speed trips out of town. In the city I feel better hearing everything around me, but there aren't as many dangers on the 40 minute trip to the beach, and the earplugs block a lot of noise even without music on. Aside from listening to music while riding, can anyone suggest some artists off the beaten path to check out? I'm really digging Tommy Emmanuel and Adam Rafferty right now, acoustic stuff. Link to Adam Rafferty playing Superstition by Stevie Ray Vaughan. I love it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVvfFtb3Y9s
