They gave me a roll of reflective red at the dealer when i got serviced . It had a tool that made it easier, but i bet the precut ones are easier and more even.
now i wish i still worked at the sign company back home. i used to design custom signs and cut vinyl lettering for stores and street signs. we had all different kinds of vinyl like silver reflective and the reflective red that you see on stop signs. i could have made my own when the boss wasn't around oh well, maybe i can give him a call and see if he can hook me up with a set.
I have access to a vinyl plotter with design software and an assortment of vinyl. If anyone figures out the dimensions of the pre-curved strips, I'll cut a few sets and ship for free. Fair enough?

I actually one left over. I'll send it to you and you can play around with it. I ordered the 10MM as they almost totally cove the rim.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered some pre-curved ones. Thank you for the offer, though. I probably would have been safe cutting a 17" circumference and cutting it in several sections. Considering the cost of the stripes and the cost of the vinyl are about the same, I opted to buy them.
I did find out about some vinyl application fluid, so that the stripes can be applied wet. You can easily position the stripes where you want. I'll be using it as soon as I receive the stripes.
