I've never tried for that many miles in one day. I did about 400 miles in one day and was OK. Another time, I did 330 miles in one day. That time my neck was sore and I was fatigued.

Does not sound like a fun thing going 1000 miles in one day.

That's 1600km , there's a group of riders known as ''iron butt'' who do that sort of milege and ''far riders'' here in Oz.

I've done 1750km straight stint in car once in 16.5hrs , never again , i would imagine its tuff going on a bike.

Rode across the country from Monterey, CA. to Harpers Ferry, WV. (@3200 miles) in 4 days back in '79, But that was on my '78 Suzuki GS1000 (unfaired). Then me and a friend (he had a KZ1000) rode from Ft. Bragg, NC to Lockport NY and back over the weekend (@1500 miles). Thats the farthest I ever rode at on time.
