hey guys,

I know that most people will say "a bag is a bag" but I'm curious if anyone has any first hand experience or reccomendations on some saddlebags for the 650F. I don't have the bike yet, but I'm very curious as they'll probably be one of my first purchases.

As such, it would also be great if they could fit my GS500F in the meantime. I'm not sure how "standard" bags of this type are, so I'm asking you knowledgeable folks.

What I'm looking for:
- Something with a decent a mount of space without being too bulky.
- Easy to strap on/remove
- affordable (I'm too poor to get hard cases, so I figured these would do well for the amount of distance I plan to cover for now)

I was looking at these and they seem decent http://newenoughhp.com/luggage/saddleba ... ebags.html

But I honestly have no idea.

Thoughts?

I got a set of Nelson-Rigg bags, including the tail bag. Very good quality and look nice on the bike. With these three bags on the bike I did a few multie day trips and had more then enough room to store everything needed.

I have had the Nelson Rigg tail bag for a few years now. This is it's second bike to live on. Talk about handy. It still looks brand new too.

These ones?

They look like they'd do nicely. The deluxe ones also look great, but I'm not sure if the difference in price is worth it or not.

Do you reckon they'd fit a GS500F alright?

The physical size/seat on the 500 isn't that much different, I'm sure they would fit very well. My tailbag works well on both my GSX650F and my FJR 1300.

Thanks, guys.

I got a set of Nelson Rigg ones since I found a decent deal on Ebay.

Now I just have to wait till summer to use them!

It's terrible ordering parts and accessories for a bike and having to wait 3 months to do anything but look at them.

hi, I just bought the oxford tankbag & tailpack in one tankbag used regularly to and from work, the panniers, yet again are oxford products expandable first time luggage which were on sale at the time (£30)! waiting to try them out as still a bit snowy around here.
just for info;the tankbag is the magnetic type, 18 to 25litre storage, does the trick!

These questions are for those of you who are using the Nelson-Rigg bags:

1. What model did you buy?
2. Do the bags scratch or mark the bike in any way?
3. Were you able to put the straps under the seat?

Thanks!

I have these:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/ ... lebag.aspx
2. No issues with any scratches on the bike.
3. I was not able to put the straps under the seat. You could probably do that with some modification of the bag straps.

With the bags on you can't access the helmet lock feature under the seat, so I added some add on helmet locks. As far as a passenger - my wife sat on top of the straps and really didn't complain about them for an hour or two trips. We had talked about making a padded fleece cover for the straps, but I fixed the issue another way - I just bought an FJR 1300 to compliment my GSX650f.
