Hi, I really wanna get a decent seat, and I've been checking these two out:

http://www.holeshot.com/Bandit_1250/corbin_1250.html
http://www.sargentcycle.com/suzwsbandit.htm

I cannot for the life of me find a way to order anything on the holeshot website, and for some reason the sargentcycle website lists every single country in the world for postage (literally) except australia, unless I'm just not looking properly. Why are motorcycle related websites always seem like they're designed by five year olds.. who knows.

Anyways! any experiences with these seats? advice etc, and if anyone knows the cheapest way to get a decent seat in aussie land, please let me know.

Thanks!

You can get the Sargent seat in Australia, though you do it through a dealership rather than dealing directly with Sargent themselves. I paid about $650 AUD to an online Australian parts dealer to get it to my door, though it should cost a fair bit less now due to the strong Aussie dollar. As for the cheapest way to get a decent seat, I believe there are small upholstery firms dotted around the country though I am unfamiliar with any in your neck of the woods. There are also websites that detail how to go about doing your own mods, if you feel adventurous. Pretty much anything is better than the stock seats. I am not sure the Sargent was worth the money I paid but as I always say when this topic comes up, if I hadn't of bought it I would have had to sell the 650F a long time ago, I just couldn't live with the stock seat.

EDIT: Here you go! $564 http://www.amcmotorcycles.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=gsx&category_id=782&product_id=2529 (scroll down the page if you can't see anything).

I just sent my sargent seat back. The way the seat is made it moves you 1" closer to the handle bars, leave no room to move in the seat. I have order some foam and plan on refoaming the seat my self.

I payed $589 through amc. I ordered a low sargent seat and was told that it will take six weeks to get here. That was five weeks ago so it should be here next week. I like to sit up against the tank when riding should be just right for me.

I finally got my new Sargent seat from amc. It took 7 weeks total so be warned !

I like the seat very comfortable for me, i got the low seat and measured it at 810mm as compared to the old seat height that i measured at 790mm !!

So be careful which one you get as the high seat is taller this this one.

I recall having to wait several months for my Sargent to arrive via AMC. it was something like 3 months or even more from memory. They kept telling me that It would be on "the next shipment". It did get here eventually of course, but it can feel like forever waiting that long for something so expensive. I suspect they were waiting for more people to place orders before actually getting them shipped over.
