No you cant, the Bandit 1250 ( 08 onwards) has two seperate pads which bolt to a seat pan, when i had my 1250 sae, i ordered the gel seats, had to unbolt the stockers and install the gel pads. On 6500 mile trip from Toronto to the Grand Canyon and back, my butt still got sore after a couple of hours, was it worth the money ... not sure. I sold the bike and bought a cruiser for the really long stuff and bought the 650 for the medium range stuff.

I want to add to Bostandann's comments and update my experience with the Spencer mod. I had the Spencer treatment done to the seat and have ridden with it for about 3500 miles now. Spence did recommend that you "break in" what he does for 100 miles. Wasn't sure of the change at first. I also commute 25 miles each way and don't really use the bike for much else and can't really justify the expense of another seat. Prior to the Spencer treatment my butt would go numb in the 40 minutes or so of commuting. No such problem now. Not sure how it will do for a longer ride, but the advantage of the Spencer treatment is that you keep the stock seat look, which I don't mind. Maybe that I'm now just more use to the seat, and this is just a placebo, but as I said for $100 with shipping from PA it was a cheap fix to the stock seat.

Thank you sir ... it is good to hear others have had positive experiences with these seats. I recently did a longer ride -- to and from Daytona -- in a single day and the seat did just fine.

That conflicts with what I have read/heard from other forum members. I think it was Dhula who had both the 650F and the 1250 who had no problems swapping the seats (forgive me if I am wrong, the discussion occurred a couple of years ago). Although the seats appear quite different I was under the impression that the seat pans were in fact compatable with each other. I also recall reading that many 1250 owners swap their seats with 650F owners because they actually prefer the 650F's seat. I also think that the Sargent seats for the 1250 and the 650F are identical. I will try to find that old thread....

EDIT: It was a member named "Pops" whose 650F came with the 1250 seat already installed, I believe. Pops, where are you pops ?!?!?!

They are. They work perfectly in fact. I went with the bandit seat since I could raise it 1".

I just bought a Bandit 1250 Corbin seat on Ebay, not ten minutes ago.

I'll let you know if it fits my 650. Since it's the same part number for both bikes/seats on the Corbin website, I'm fairly confident that it will work.

Well, the Corbin for the Bandit 1250 arrived while I was up in frozen Iowa last week. Now that I'm back in the warmth of Mustang Island, I had a chance to install the seat.

The Corbin seat pops on with absolutely no wriggling or modification. You literally take the old one off, and pop the new one on. No muss, no fuss. This is not surprising, since it's the same part
number as the GSX650F seat, but there was some debate here as to whether one would fit the other.

I'm about to take it out for its maiden ride, but here are a couple of pictures of the new seat. I think it looks great!

I love the looks of that seat. I am 6'1" with a 34" inseam @ 235lbs. I am concerned that that the low seat height may cramp my legs too much. The sargent with the regular seat height seems to be the best choice, but the looks do nothing for me. I am more confused than ever.....corbin, sargent, gel, someone please give me some advice!!!! I want a new seat!

jjhoneck,

I wanna hear about the comfort level for long rides and if it helps to keep the family jewels from scraping the gas tank.

i find the sargent very comfy for rides over two hours . and you can slide left or right to hang a little or a lot for good control and fun cornering.
Plus no more sliding forward on hard breaking

YES ..as some have said the Bandit ""1250"" seat fits .
I have one ,I can see why the bandit guys swap to a 650 seat its worse then ours.
I do like the split seat and you can use the rear pillion section you push against with your arse while on the corners.
I'm about to get the seat modified...
