The Bike's been banished to the garage, but I spent 2-3 minutes on it on my feet and carefully on the sidestand. It seems pretty darn good. It's very firm when compared with the 650's seat, but you kinda sink in after a while. I'm up on the balls of my feet, still very stable, but it -is- taller. I think it looks a little classier, and theres a curve and lip in the passenger seat. So maybe it'll cut out the pancake effect when riding with the gals two up.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but the Bandit 1250's seat is height adjustable, something to do with the rubber bumpers under the seat pan I believe. Perhaps you currently have it on the high setting?

No, it's summer.

yeah, maybe for you upside-downers! I'm aware that it's adjustable, and to correct the slide-forward tendancies of Both seats, you have to set the front of the seat to the "high" setting, and leave the back of the seat at it's "low" setting. it results in a very level seat, but you're going to lose a half an inch or maybe a slight bit more of foot to pavement ease.
I was flat on one foot, and almost entirely flat on the other with the 650 stocker, with this seat I'm flat on one foot, and comfortably on the ball of my foot on the other. Nothing too hateful, only just noticeable. It -will- be a big deal for middle five foot tall people who are more comfortable on a GS500/500R Kawi and move up though I think.

Mini-update.
A week or so ago it was dry roads, and 30 degrees F or abouts, and I couldn't help myself. I spent about hour or so tooling about town, and did some highway riding, albeit in a tuck to keep out of the viciously cold 60mph air, and I do believe it's -way- better than the 650's seat. going from full throttle to off, or brakes, ect, does not result in a forward seat-slide. I don't feel like my buttcheeks (for lack of a better term) bottom out in the seat either.
I wouldn't say I'm a fatty rider or anything, but I -am- 220 unclothed, ungeared. on the 650's seat after an hour I felt like I was through the padding. The bumps would really start to dig in, and I'd find myself shifting fore or aft, to pull pressure off the effected areas of my butt. 1 hour, zero fatigue, zero uncomfort.
But.. one hour mostly around town is NOT a review. In a month or so I'll find out for sure if this is a sure-fire cure for numb bum.
