Hi...... For all of you folks with short legs that have complained about the seat height, I have the answer for you!!! I just purchase a leftover '08 GSX650R. I have owned several bikes over the years, my last being a Katana 600. Suzuki made a nice bike with this model, but the "too leaned" over style hurt my wrists after an hour or so. My all time favorite bike I owned was a Honda 700 Interceptor...smooth, steady power...anyways, I digress! The seat height on the GSX650F was too tall (I am only 5'5"), and I could only touch with my tiptoes. I've ridden bikes where the balls of my feet were touching, and I have needed to be very balanced at stops, and while getting on/off. BUT, the seat on this bike can be adjusted by a dealership to LOWER it! I am picking up my new GSX650F on Saturday, and can now touch the ground FLAT FOOTED! Dealers have a special tool to remove links under the seat, and WOLAH! Problem solved!
You must mean the rubber blocks on the bottom of the seat. Cause i can't see anything else. I'm 5'7 and im fine with the bike. It can get interesting on steep slopes however.

Congrats on the purchase of the 650F.
I'm guessing they are putting in a set of lowering links (aka dogbones) - nothing to do with the seat at all and it's a very common modification. The 'special tool' is called a socket set and a spanner, it's quite easy to do, the links are available pretty much everywhere and are dirt cheap.
The only way to lower the ride height of the actual seat is to pull the cover off and shave some foam out.

Yes, Bikerboy, I know they said something about "links", but what truly matters to me now is that I can touch the ground FLATFOOTED! So, in essence the "seat" is lower when I sit on it! LOL! Also, thanks to everyone for your posts, because your input finally made my decision the buy the Suzuki final. I almost bought a Ninja 500!! I'll post a pic of me and my bike when I pick it up this weekend:)

Congrats on the new bike! I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. Standing at 6ft 4ins tall, I found the F was too short. Got hold of a Bandit 1250 seat which is taller to begin with but the seat itself if height adjustable. Now it's great!

I've been contemplating links too. I am 5'10" but have short legs so I can get both balls of my feet down, but not both feet flat and I would feel more comfy that way.

I'm a 5'4" person, having this bike for 2 weeks now and using it everyday to work, going through traffic, highways, back roads etc clocking more than 2000 miles. i bought the 1inch lowering link before i got the bike but now i think i dont need it. once you get the balance of it, it should be easy to handle this bike. the only issue i face right now is doing a u-turn in a tight places. other than that, nothing much to complaint, a very good bike indeed.

I recently purchased lowering links(dogbones) if you get the non ajustable ones, various lengths, I got the 2,4 inch lowering links, but the 2 inch was a little too much, so I found another set 1.5 inch(yet to be installed) but under $20. helps to have a buddy help you. Very difficult to use the centerstand after installing the lowering links.

Sorry, I forgot the kickstand becomes an issue with lowering too much also. with the 2 inch the bike almost stands up straight. Adjustable kickstands are pricey. Changing to the 1.5 inch soon will let you know. The centerstand is coming off, just dead weight now.
