The yamaha is a nice looking bike ,but the reviews are mixed some good ,some just ok.

The yamaha is more aimed at the beginner and as a steeping stone to a R6 ......the 650F is aimed as an all rounder -sports tourer for all riders.
For a newbie pick either one ,or any rider that wanted an all rounder to keep ,then the 650F.
Remember the 650F was MCN sports tourer of the year last year.

In my opinion,

the Yamaha would be better for :

a beginner
(50 pounds- 20 kilograms lighter,Lower and narrower seat, less horsepower)

a smaller rider
(50 pounds- 20 kilograms lighter,Lower and narrower seat)

Mixed commuting (in town, highway)
(50 pounds- 20 kilograms lighter)

The Suzuki is better for larger riders, and longer highway use
(roomier, more horsepower, heavier, smoother)
