I bought this off the showroom floor in December 2008. I have had so much fun with this bike. I have been on long trips, short trips and have enjoyed modifying to make my bike unique.

Well I finally have my title on it's way, I'll have it Monday so I can go register the bike and get a license plate on Tuesday night. Then I can FINALLY get out and do some riding without worrying about getting pulled over. I've had this motorcycle almost a month and I managed to go out one afternoon and put 15 miles on it. It's been parked the rest of the time and I'm dying to get it road legal. Not sure if that one joyride made it better or worse, I'm already in love with the thing. Next Saturday I'll ride over to my dealership to fix the rectifier, then I plan to spend the rest of the day in the mountains bringing this bike out of it's very long hibernation. In the past two years it's only gone about 600 miles. I'll be riding that distance every two weeks starting Wednesday. Can't wait!

Yup its a good allrounder. Such a shame its not lighter. When the tank is getting empty and there's about 6-8 liters left I can really feel the bike being more nimble. And gets better and better until both the fuel icon and last bar start flashing which means I have start searching for a fuel station
It could have been a keeper being around 215-220kg wet.

Nice colour-coding there, and assuming you're in the USA, very patriotic too. I like it. Did you paint the exhaust hanger and heelguards, or powder-coat?

I fell in love all over again this season. I did 14,500 Km last season & still don't feel I've "outgrown" this ride. It's fast as I need... brings many smiles, & is just one of the best "do it all" motorcycles at this price point... period!
I don't see myself upgrading any time soon... unless I keep drooling over the Ninja 1000!
I painted the exhaust hangers and feet guards, i took them off and cleaned, sanded and used anodized paint from the auto parts store. Matches my anodized levers perfectly and you can always touch up...

OK, I'll admit it - I thought you were all soft and that my F wasn't a bike I'd ever "fall in love" with. Sure I was impressed; my first injected machine, also first faired bike, but also the heaviest ride I've ever had and a riding position I wasn't used to. But something happened this week: she suddenly became comfortable, I'm moving through the gearbox like it's made of silk, and the throttle is my bitch. I dunno if it's love, but there's a definite stirring in my loins whenever I think about mounting her. Which is often, now...
