My stock bars are at times a bit uncomfortable on longer rides as they put pressure on the outside edges of my palms and they also make it a bit difficult for me to tuck down. I'm currently looking to find a set of bars with the same width and rise, just no pullback. I've looked a few aftermarket bars and haven't found anything close to what I'm looking for. I've seen pictures of bars for a Honda CB400F that look like they'd fit the bill nicely, though the only problem is I haven't been able to locate any for sale.
EDIT: I did some rough measuring and I don't think there will be enough clearance at the fairing for straight bars.

I get the same thing when I go for long rides. I would suggest some gel palm gloves and remember to relax your arms when you can. Way cheaper than new handlebars or clipons.

Thanks Risis. If I could get the bars that stick out from the top triple clamp, I'd be in good shape (I know thats not gonna happen). I've already got gel palm gloves - though its a bit too hot here to wear them unless its either winter, or when the junebugs come out. I'm actually going to get some soft foam grips and may even try to rotate the bars if the grips alone don't take care of the problem. I've no problem relaxing my arms, just when trying to tuck.

Can I ask a potentially silly question?
Have you tried rotating the bars in the clamps a little bit?
Well have you? I did, approx 1/2 inch rotation of bar to the front, then retighten mounts, adjust levers etc as necessary.feels better, travel a lot longer, probably three times more than before i get an ache in the wrist department,i usually get sweaty in the gnads area first now! )

My hands (with gloves) were always half on the grips and half on the bar ends afther a while. When I replaced the grips by heated ones, the problem was gone. Why ?? the heated grips have a outside rim on them. My hands stay in the right place now.
I had the same problem, I thought it was the new riding position coming from a cruiser, and having long arms. Instead of the gel gloves or grips I bought some foam grip covers called "grip puppies." http://www.casporttouring.com/cst/motor ... SMALL.html Pretty cheap, $10 with shipping. They make the grip a larger diameter which I like better too. And my stock grips have a rim on the outside edge which made installing these a pain, but you can do it with patience. I'm still debating going to heated grips, but that would give me the smaller diameter again, and I won't have the cushioned grips.

I use grip puppies too. They are much more comfortable and feels better. It reduces the vibration as well. You wont have that lingering vibrating feeling in your hand after you come from a long trip. TomcatVet, if you worry about the heated grips, you can try Oxford Hot Hands. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/heated-motorcycle-grips/

I rotated my bars down, and adjusted the levers forward/down past stock. I'll find out how comfy that is this spring. it looks like and initially feels like it's going to be just amazing.
