I left my bike for 4 hours and came back + the battery was dead. I checked the one 30A fuse and it was good. Arked battery terminals + to - and no spark.
Unsure anything could have been left on... the bike was parked, ignition in the locked steering wheel position. Cked that hazards were'nt mistakenly left on.
I'm sitting in my office now trying to figure out if I can push start without the FI powered up? or, if there is anything special to be cautious about when jumpstarting a bike? ...that is if I can find someone with cables...

With some bikes ,if you turn the key past lock ,the head light stays on ..its a saftey thing. Look at where you Put the key in ,its got START ,LOCK ...then the letter P= ,with a sign that looks like a light beams...if you had the key there the battery might go flat. OR Have you had the recall done ,search recall on this forum. Its some thing to do with the bikes power just shuting off....if you havn't had the recall done ,suzuki will fix it for free NO MATTER ,how old or second owner ect.

To answer your actual questions...
"Bump-starting" (roll-starting, clutch-starting - I'm not sure what you would call it...) is fine - I recommend 3rd gear. I'm not so sure about jump-starting (using leads attached to another running vehicle's battery) though, and would be worried about frying the ECU - I've heard nasty stories about EFI cars like that...

Jump starting is absolutely fine.
you are not going to get that bike push/bump started, if it won't power the cluster. it's not going to happen.
I've gotten my jump started by a truck, a car, a battery charger, a jumpbox, hell, I've ran a GSXR1000 off a jumpbox, hahahah. jump box on the tank, do a big smokey burnout, shut off, remove leads, go home. hahahaha.
You'll be fine if you can find someone with some jump leads. your bike will start without the other car even running. not a big deal.
It could also be just the battery. Not sure what the temperatures have been in OR, but if it was fairly hot, and the battery isn't up to snuff it could die on you. Most auto parts stores will do a load check free if the battery is out of the bike. Many have weekly coupons for this too. They have a device that puts a load on the battery and then checks it over time, usually an hour for the long test. It can tell you whether it is keeping the charge appropriately or not. Or you can get a cheap volt/ohm meter (VOM) at Radio Shack or a big box store like Home Depot and do a poor man's check. The voltage should be over 12 when you start. If it has sat overnight and the voltage is below 12, the battery probably bad, especially if it is disconnected from the bike. If in the bike and over 12 then start the bike. The voltage should be over 13 at idle and running up the RPM's it should approach 14. I need to grab the manual, but for most vehicles that is roughly where it should be. If it starts out below 12 something is wrong, either with the battery or something is draining it. If over 12 then turn on the bike but don't start it. It should decrease some but not that much as the headlight is on. If you see it immediately go way south of 12v within 5 minutes then something is probably wrong with the battery. Due to heat and vibration many motorcycle batteries don't last more than a couple of years. I've gotten mine to go much longer but I use a battery tender when not riding for extended periods. Good luck.

When I first got my Suzuki I wasn't used to it and turned the key too far when locking. It will leave the lights on. Luckily someone let me know before I killed the battery.
