After about 650 miles I only have 1 complaint. Gonna take it to the dealer next week and see if they can trace it down. When in gear, between
2100 - 2900rpm there is a very loud noise from the inner liner of the fairing, it comes from vibration and once the engine goes above 3000rpm it totally disappears. Its there no matter what gear I'm in. I can't find anything loose but the noise is loud enough to here from 10 feet away while excellerating, it will also do it sitting still and revving the engine to this rpm range and holding it for a couple of seconds.

Anyone else have this problem???.

Hi
I seem to recall a reviewer who had a vibration type noise and it turned out to be the windscreen when the reviewer lent forward and held the screen it stopped. Possibility?

What did the dealer say was causing the noise?

If it's driving you nuts I would spend an afternoon and take one side panel off, test drive to see it it's gone. If it's not gone, take the other panel off then test again. They are relatively easy to take off. It's probably going to be a process of elimination to find the noise. Let us know what you find out.

Well I finally got to play with it a little, haven't had it to the dealer, gonna take it friday. It is definitely the windshield, you can reach up and grab it and the noise goes away. It doesn't seem to be loose but it does vibrate quite strongly in that rpm range. Once above the 3000rpm it goes completely away and the windshield smooths out quite nicely. The vibration is so strong that it starts to make the black panel in the upper fairing vibrate around the gauges. We'll see what the dealer says friday am.

Well, went to the dealer today and showed them the noise. The guy knew instantly what it was. Said that several others they had sold were making the same sound. Suzuki's answer for now was to put a small 1/4"x 1/8" piece of body tape under the front center tab of the windshield, it goes under the small tab in the center of the black trim on the windshield plastic. Stopped the noise instantly and you can't see it. All is well again. Suzuki I'm sure is aware of the problem now and will probably install the tape or a piece of body foam themselves.

Cool. Glad you found it wasn't anything major.
I Think it will be something I will have to take a look at.
If it's vibrating that bad even if it's not making alot of noise it's bound to break something over time.

Thanks for the update. I heard they skipped pieces on assembly on black bikes to make them go faster. :D

Of course I have a Blue one.

I suppose the debate on which color is faster will continue :), but I'll tell you what, I am loving that engine! With 2000 miles, Betsy (OK, don't laugh, it's the first bike I have ever named) is really starting to run. To take it up through the gears and shifting at high RPM is such a rush! I'm not a sports bike expert, but this bike is so easy to ride and so versatile, I can't imagine having a better bike. It's also less expensive on insurance then the liter bikes. Plus I don't have to change rear tires as often as a liter bike. What else can I say. I LOVE IT!

Excuse the bump, but i get the vibration also from the console, exact symptoms as mcruff, have to grab the dash (above the tacho) to stop it, but i can't ride with one hand all the time :)

Could have sworn it was the dash though because when i grabbed the windshield at 2000/3000 rpm's it didn't make any difference.Only when i held the dash.Anyway i'll apply some tape as sugessted, on the weekend.

Glad to finally know what's causing it after several months.
