When you use the highbeam a lot, Why not upgrade to HID Xenon ?? You will need a HB3 (9005) for the igh beam, And a separate H7 for low beam. Add 2 PIAA Leds and you're done.

HID's take 15-30 seconds to get real good and bright. I suggest them in the low beam. Sylvania SilverStars work Great. I have an HID in the low, and a silverstar in the hibeam, and it works out great. get them both aimed to work together on an empty road, and enjoy.

Get better globes ...cheap and easy ,that make HUGE difference. Then ride with your high beam on and see if you get any flashs from other driver to turn them off. I ride with high beam on alot and get 1 flash once a week if that.

Globes = Bulbs (for Yanks)
I'd go with HiD low-beam and halogen high-beam. If you intend to use high-beam all the time during the day (as some folks believe it is safer to do so) then you may consider HiD low and high-beams. I don't believe a higher performance halogen low-beam is a great idea due to the heat they put out.

I use the Philips X-treme Power globes 100 times better than the standard glodes. I used to travel on dark country roads at night on the way home from work and these globes really made a difference.
Cheers

goooood one sleddog. Ok now back to bright ideas, well the TOlIps good too,
One thing that sleddog posted about the headlamp assembly many post ago, is the fact from the factory and dealer, the low and high beams are set too low.
So U might want to try adjusting the low and high beams first before changing anything.
I would recommend changing the wimpy white marker lights on each side to LEDs amber or yellow, i did that and you really know it is a motorcycle and not a cyclops Cage.
Just a caution, the lamp housing and vacuum coated reflector, is not really designed for HID's, the silver will evaporate and coat the front plastic lens.
