I have a question for those of us that are running luggage. I currently have the GIVI side rack (swap bags from my DL back and forth). I would like to ad the SW motech quick lock top rack mount ( have the same system on my DL) so that I can swap the top luggage. Is anyone out there running this system? I have looked at the top rack system from GIVI and frankly it sits the top luggage to high for my taste.

The concern is that the side rack is fitted to the grab handle with spacers and this is the same location for the mount of the SW-Motech. If anyone out there is running this combo I would like to know if it will work...thanks

I use exactly the system you are talking about, for exactly the same reason. I have the Givi sideracks and the SW Motech toprack. The SW Motech does in fact sit lower and more forward than the Givi. It was a simple bolt-on installation.

I got my toprack from Twisted Throttle, and am very pleased with their service.

I have the Maxima E55 top case and the E460 sidecases. I also got the Admore LED lights for the sidecases from Twisted Throttle, and they also work great.

If you have any further questions, you can PM me or just post a reply.

This is good info for if/when I go the hard case route.

emsguy,

thanks for the response. I was hoping somebody had this setup. It's great when you have a bike that has the GIVI stuff cause as you start adding bikes all you have to add is the rack.

+1 on twisted throttle. I have used these guys for a ton of stuff. They carry quality stuff most of it european. I got my barbacks from them and all my MRA screens...

Did you have to change the clutch or brake hoses to get the barbacks to work?

Originally I kept the rubber hose for the brake. However, it was stretched beyond my comfort level and also limited the ability to rotate the bar for different settings. I finally decided to change the line to the HEL braided lines and now its not an issue. The clutch-side has no issue....
