I have some Gears soft bags from my old 500, but they don't fit as well on the 650 and I'm wondering whether a tail bag is the way to go. Anyone use a good one? It'd be nice to get something that could be slipped off the bike and over my shoulder, but big enough for a few days of travel (though I travel light). And water tight!

I have a tourmaster 18 liter I think. Has a shoulder strap and rain cover. Fits well attached to rear peg heel protectors and hand rail lugs. I did get some covers for the 2 hook/bungees that go against the frame to protect the body paint.

Kreiga US20 or US30. Excellent build quality, straps under the seat, no involvement with bungees. TOTALLY waterproof, no cover needed, strap for off the bike. Only con: a bit pricey.

Another pricey option would be
http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/

Or instead of getting a waterproof bag just make sure everything in it is in lawn leaf bags for example

Well, I got me the Tourmaster select luggage set, saddle- and tail bag, as well as the tank bag.

Is very easy to install/de-install and has enough capacity for a weeks trip. I got it of EBay for a steal, $220 vs. $400 retail.

Thanks guys. I think the Kreiga might be the thing I'm looking for, but we'll see.
