Well for my birthday my girlfriend and I took the F's to the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina!!!! I just wanted to inform everyone.....if you have the chance....GO!!!!! There is some absolutely stellar riding down there!!!! The "tail" is cool, but there are tons of other roads down that way the offer some of the best riding I have ever been on. We put on about 600 miles in two days and did lots of sight seeing. If you like carving curves and great mountain scenery, it is awesome. You don't have to kill yourself to have a great time on the bike, we took our time....well some of the time we did and had a great time!!! Just wanted to put this up to inform everyone of a great spot to take the bikes. Just don't go when we did....late June and it was WAY too hot, upper 90"s and high humidity. We are gonna try and head back down either this fall of next spring. I'll try and post a pic of our bikes when we were down there.
The Dragon is a great ride and tons of fun, I live about an hour and a half away from it depending on traffic going through Piegon Forge and Gatlinburg. Gotta be careful though the damn cars will run you over!

Where did you/she get the decal kit? I have been looking for something similar to that (not so much purple) but have yet to find anything. Anyway you could point me in the direction of a website?

Thanks for the link, when are the dates for the bike fest? If it doesn't interfere with school I may make my way down there. Haven't been that far south in Tx yet.

She got her graphics at a little local shop here in the thumb of michigan. Its actually a vinyl wrap. It turned out pretty decent, there are a few flaws that I can pick out, but nothing major. Check with local graphics shops and inquire about a vinyl, just make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing. It was alot cheaper than getting it painted, thats for sure. Mine is going in in the fall for some custom air brush and clear coat, now that I have finished putting the undertail on her.
As for a rally....we would certainly try and make it!!!! My good friend, who has a fz6r wants to head down with us next time we go.....and so does my aunt with her HD sportster!!!
And just as a side note.....my girl can ride!!!!! I don't consider myself a great rider, but I was layin it out pretty hard down in NC and she kept right up with me, no problem!!!!
(Deal's Gap) or Tail of the Dragon is fantastic, there is also a road called The Sky Way in the same area, a really great scenic ride, you can ride for days in that area and not ride the same road twice, have met people from all over the world when I have gone up there, hope to get back up there myself this fall, just ride careful and watch for the cops, they love out of staters, catch yas all later,, DaveG
I'm heading up there around Mid-October but with the wife's Can-Am Sypder. Don't have room for both the Spyder and the "F" on the trailer, too bad cause I would have like to see how the "F" handles the twisties, of which we have very little of in FL.
